Best shoes ever!- UPDATE
Update! The review holds true. But I had to add. I just completed minor shoe repair after third time out. The seam started to let go and unravel. Repair isn’t pretty but hopefully this will be the only one I ever do. And why did I bother? Because they’re still the best shoes ever.I have never been able to find trail shoes or athletic shoes in general, that don’t make my toes numb. Until now. These are fantastic!!!Read the description before you buy- these aren’t meant to be super support, memory foam laden 5lb shoes! They are ultra minimalist which is exactly what i need and wanted. No more stiff clunky boots that don’t let you feel the terrain causing rock kicking, foot dragging misery 20 mintues in. The vibram keeps you from slipping and the ability to spread the toes and have the shoe mold to the rocks keeps you on balance. The fact that they are feather light allows you to enjoy the hike instead of wishing it was over so you could take your boots off.Best shoes ever.

Love these shoes!
Got my pair in the mail a couple days ago and I love these! They’re my first pair. I was always skeptical about them (and their odd looks) but decided to try them since I’m fed up with wearing stiff, tight shoes (wides vs regular don’t help) and I hate that squished-toes feeling. Toes need room to wiggle and breathe! These shoes are awesome because they are form fitting but they move with your foot. I love how I can feel the rocks and other stuff while walking but it doesn’t hurt to step on them. They take a few wears to get used to as I’m not used to wearing such “bare” shoes. But I haven’t had any issues with them and I’m ecstatic about them already! So far I’ve used them for a short hike and a walk on a paved trail (gotta break them in slow before taking them on an all-day hike). No issues! I bought them in my size and they’re perfect. Ordered some toe socks to wear with them as they are more comfy with socks.

Great foot protection while still feeling closer to barefoot than chunky boots
These are phenomenal shoes. If you're looking for great foot mobility without compromising on sole protection these are a great option. I purchased these in anticipation of a coming hiking trip in Hawai'i. I bought them early and wore them everywhere leading up to the trip to break them in. I purchased a bunch of wool toe socks from Injinji to pair with them since I often get blisters or chafe from any shoe. When the time came for the trip, I wore them for each hiking outing on muddy slippery trails with all sorts of obstacles and they held up phenomenally. I had wonderful traction and foothold awareness and because of that I avoided slipping in many places where my spouse ended up inadvertently playing Twister. Funny enough, they became damaged not from the abuse they took on the hikes, but back home where a seam thread on the side got snagged on a low bramble! It hasn't come apart yet as a result so it looks like it should be a simple home repair with a needle and thread.

Runs small, could use more arch support
These shoes run small. I'm usually a women's 6.5-7, but in these I ended getting 7.5-8 for them to fit comfortably. It's useful to have a little extra space too, because -- I ordered socks to wear with these (so they don't get smelly)- These shoes didn't give me sufficient arch support, and I put in 3/4 inch arch/sole inserts to solve that- The back of the shoes also really dug into my heel, which hurt. Adding the sole insert lifted my heel up and solved this issue- I am a little worried about the material on the top part of the shoe is going to wear quickly because it's such thin material. i.e. even just my toe nail or something rubbing against itOtherwise - I took them out hiking, walked all over rocks - they were really comfortable, had a lot of traction, and provided a lot of foot grip control climbing over things and going up/down inclines. I'm excited to have shoes that are actually the shape of feet.

Best trail shoes!
You can feel the trail under your feet, but the rocks don’t hurt at all!! By far the best trail shoes ever. I’m in love!I tried them out on a very rocky trail and they were perfect!

Sizing
It is really hard to size properly, but I think a little smaller would have been better. However, didn't want to return as little might not have fit properly either. Had surgery on right foot in November and now shoe feels better. Going to have surgery on left foot in March, figure that will make left one feel better too. Glad I did order. Next pair will order smaller.

Break them in
I got the same size I wear in the cvt-wool (38), and it was a wrestling match getting them on the first couple times. I wore them around the house for 2 or 3 days to break them in. The ankle was painful at first and one of my pinky toes felt like fabric was scratching it, but now they fit perfectly. I did put moleskin in the back and also put bandaids on the back of my ankles when I wore them hiking the first time. I only did about 3 miles. They felt like slippers. I didn't feel the rocks under my foot and the grip was great.

Fits normal, Only good for city life
First off the fit is normal! or at least same as spyridons and KMD. I have the same size in all and I actually go with the 39 for wmns 8-8.5 even though when i buy vans, converse in 9(add insoles and hose shoes run narrow in toes) and i buy size 8.5 in nike(free runs wider toe box then some other nikes) I find all vibram five finger shoes stretch nice and perform better when tight, i do not wear toe socks just vinegar spray after use and wash quarterly. I bought these for outdoor use, hiking, trail running, track running, grass running. I rec for only grass and track, or walking around a mall lol.The support on these are bad, compared to their others, Spyridon was at least solid in the bottom instead of flexible so stones and derbis didn't hurt your sole. The fact the bottom is one solid piece instead of how the more athletic shoes (i have KMD) have multiple layers which are more supportive. On the KMD you can see there is a seperate arch layer that is higher up then the areas that strike ground, which does actually provide way more arch support and foot stability with design. Spyridons work because the one piece was harder and therefore supportive. These shoes just have a thin layer of neither. You do get grip, like when running down dirt hill it does grip nicer than KMD which is expected as KMD is a training shoe(gym, weight lifting, cardio)

Very good. Warning: 2 sizes bigger needed
Very comfortable, keep your toes in place. I am using them for hallux valgus and neuroma mainly and are perfect for the scope. With an extra sustain for the ankle. 👍🏻Soles have a good grip.Better than walking barefoot.Fair warning: 2 sizes bigger than yours is needed.
