Recommend this product, but removed from mesh filter bag
Utilized in the Penn Plax Cascade 700 and 1200 and this product is tightly packed into the Nylon bag. The directions state the bag could be cut and emptied into the tray, which is better for equal distribution in the tray.Added this into the Cascade 700 bio-foam tray (only has two trays), removing the second polished floss pad that came installed originally, and in a bigger bag for better spread out (and flow) and distribution in the tray.In the 1200, installed but, without mesh bash, may need at least two orders to fill large tray. Mixed with small bio-balls (similar media), to top off tray.Good product at good price, can be used in any canister filter.

Exactly what you want, nothing that you don't.
Product works as you would expect. I recently got 2 turtles, and I thought I didn't need to worry about water chemistry, so I got a filter and set it up with just mechanical media, thinking I could strain out turtle poop and leftover food and be fine. Nope. I was doing 100% water changes every 4 days or so, which gets old with a 50 gallon tank. So I finally did some reading online, and realized I needed to worry about the biosphere in my tank. Since adding these rings, and the nitrate remover cubes from penn plax, as well as adding the proper starter bacteria (I used Stability by SeaChem), I have clean, clear water that doesn't smell, and goes for weeks without me having to do anything but rinse out my filter weekly.Note, if you use these, once you have your biosphere setup properly, you do NOT want to rinse them in tap water. When you clean out your filter, take these out and give them a good dunking in your tank. This will clean anything off their outside, but will leave the good bacteria happy and healthy, so that you don't have to set your tank up all over again.Note: They come in a mesh bag, but if necessary, you can cut the bag open and distribute them inside your filter however works best for you. I have left mine in the bag for ease of cleaning, but your mileage may vary.

Great product
I use these exclusively for my tank. The black carbon was destroying my fish and the tank. These keep it super clean and my fish are happy campers:)

Two bags in my Cascade 700
I used two of these in my Cascade 700 canister filter, great value. I removed the rings from the media bag to help the media spread out and lay flat in the media tray. The media bag is high quality, I'm saving it for future use.My media arrangement, from bottom to top is: BioSponge, BioRings, BioRings, BioFloss.

Good size rings, and lots in the bag.
These are great. I wanted larger bio-rings to go in my hob filter, to allow better waterflow. These are perfect. My picture shows the Mesh bag cut open, and 20 rings removed. I put 2 of my old smaller rings on the table beside these new ones, for you to see the difference. Rings are 9/16" long, by 10/16" wide, with 1/4" whole in middle. 315 grams of rings. Must be around 100 or so in the bag. I think 2 looked chipped. These don't seem fragile. Just give a good rinse, and they are good for use.

Looks good, price good
About 5% broke by the time I received them. Nice solid net that contains them, but I cut the net off so they fit perfect in my canister filter tray. They have a wide inside diameter which appears to make them more delicate then other brands. I don’t think they will break on regular aquarium use. A bathtub faucet and bucket may be too rough for them when cleaning. I will clean them carefully (if I ever clean them)Still happy, can’t beat this price !

Very decent quality for the price
These are very decent quality for the price. I run them in a Eheim and in a Fluval FX4 for 1 month now, I have nothing bad to tell about them.
