If you love faeries...
Arrived in good, new condition, undamaged. LOVED her other books, so I thought I'd give these a try, as they're connected to Cruel Prince. LOVED it, though the second book had some points that were difficult. Not -bad-, just some things that were hard to read someone going through (drug use/bad mother/sexual abuse/animal death). Just be forewarned and take a break where needed! otherwise, all of it was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend if you liked Folk of the Air series

Great Box Set, read the Tithe in middle school
I read this book over 20 years ago in the early 2000s when I was a middle school student. I hated it, now though reading it again as a 35 year old I'm not sure what I hated so much about it. I think I was put off by Kayes and Ellen's relationship and Ellen in particular.Kayes mother is super selfish, she struggles to make a living trying to live her dream as a singer but when you're a parent that's not fair. You should put your kid first and never once does Ellen do what's in the best interest of her daughter. Because of Kayes upbringing she is a high school drop out who steals, drinks, and smokes. She's kind of a bad kid. She's rather impulsive and tenacious though which makes her interesting. As a 35 year old I found myself really rooting for her. When Kaye saves a mysterious handsome man her world is turned up side down. She finds out the truth about her circumstances and some of the magical abilities she has as well as her child hood friends. Kaye also makes friends with her bff's weird, standoffish brother.I admit the story is unusual and trying to describe it without giving away big plot elements is something I found to be quite difficult. It's a good book though and really should be experienced, not just as one of Holly Blacks original works but as an early 2000s YA/Urban Fantasy. Over 20 years later it's still quite distinct.

I don’t want to give to many spoilers
But these are a must read for everyone who enjoys fantasy novels and fae novels it really transports you in to the world, great writing style easy to read, young adult novel, warning language and drug use, is sensitive to topics. 10/10 would recommend!!

Review is for product NOT story
I have not read these yet, but I just wanted to write a review just in case someone bought these and were surprised like I am. Book two in the series is a different format than one and three (even though it’s a box set). Book two came glossy and with a different color/weight of paper. Books one and three have a darker paper and lighter weight, and have matte finish covers. The quality is still great, the books are still the same story; but if you’re someone who likes matching series, maybe purchase in store so you can make sure they’re matching formats! That being said, I adore Holly Black and I love this world she created, so I’m excited to read these!!

Eh.
Honestly, these are difficult to read. I made it through the first, but then didn't finish the second. Although creative with a modern twist, the characters are extremely unlikable. Its fine to not like one or two, but for all of them to be unlikable isn't great.
