There are a lot of bad reviews on Amz about this kind of tea. Complaints about it being brown, bitter, etc. but this brand Matcha is very good. Nice green color, good flavor as far as Matcha tea taste goes.

I purchased this from a local natural foods store to see what matcha tea was like. I don't mess with the bamboo whisk and the ceremonial bowl and all that crap. I put a heaping teaspoon into my 20oz. Wawa mug (that's a local convenience store), fill it up with maybe 8 oz of water that is not fully boiled (I don't like my tea scalding anyway), then mix it well with a spoon, then finish adding water to perhaps 16oz and stir some more. Just as is, it tastes like strong green tea--nothing exceptional, but pleasant. But then I add a lot of butter, a pinch of sea salt, a pinch of kelp powder, and some heavy cream and I have a superdrink that tastes great. Tons of energy (I operate on fat, not carbs) and lots of antioxidants and trace minerals.As far as replacing coffee--nothing replaces coffee. I used this as a replacement to get off of caffeine because I was concerned about my adrenals, and even though it has some caffeine, it's nothing like the energy hit I got from just 12oz of regular coffee. As far as I'm concerned, there is no replacement for coffee, but this tea with mods is still a nice way to start the morning.
