The Sox Rock
This is a well made product that does what it was designed to do. Our dog was really hurting her feet with all her chewing/licking. You have to roll/scrunch the sock up entirely in your hand so that you have the rolled bundle all the way to the toes and you can spread it open wide with both hands pulling from the left and right. You have to then carefully push the sock over the whole paw at once in order to get the nails all in the base and then unroll upwards to spread out the sock all the way to the top. Be careful to have the dew claw smoothed down so it is not bent in the process as you spread the sock upward. These stay on good, the dog really can't shake or pull them off. We use the Velcro bands to secure them but make sure not to bind them too tight. The non slip surfaces are great and so the socks can be used simply to make it easier for your dog to negotiate wood floors, or any other potentially slippery floor surface like tile. After a few days, our dog grew accustomed to them and resists less about having them put on. We don't leave them on overnight, just off and on during the day when she starts chewing her feet. As she may not look happy in the photo about wearing the sock --- she always looks like that.

Review After Six Months
I purchased these sox six months ago for my aging Border Collie who is losing some muscle tone in her hind legs and therefore she has difficulty getting up off the hardwood floor. The size was fine. They generally stay on overnight. Some people have an issue with the button being uncomfortable and I can see why. I avoid that by angling the velcro strap so that it doesn’t cover the button. Instead, I place it past the button at an angle. So there is no pressure on the button from the strap. I don’t recommend these for outdoor use at all. The material is fine for indoor floors, but not durable enough for pavement. One of the socks has a hole from my dogs toenail, but that’s mainly due to me not trimming her nails enough. I will say that the tackiness of the rubber has decreased over time, so they are less effective. Washing them and keeping them free of dirt helps this somewhat, but I wish I could bring them back to there original tackiness. I wanted to ask the seller if they had any tips to help this, but I don’t see any contact information for them. If anyone else has any tips for this issue, let me know. Overall, for the price, these Sox are are very helpful, at least for several months of frequent use. Just wish they maintained all of their tackiness.

Like Bombas for dogs! Well made, stays put, even on a dog with short legs (just fold the top)!
These dog socks are made much better than I expected! Stretchy, soft, well made, they remind me of Bombas socks... but for dogs. ;)Purchased these because our sweet girl, a 25 lb beagle mix (vets think she’s Beagle corgi/basset or may have a form of dwarfism) developed an interdigital furnuncle (a wound between her toes), but our vet didn’t have any immediate openings for an appointment. They suggested I cover her foot with a sock until we could come in. Purchased a size Medium and they stay on much better than the human footie sock + elastic bandage method we initially attempted!Since our girl has big paws for her size but very short legs, the size medium fits the paw footbed area perfectly, but is more like a thigh high. ;) So we secure the elastic Velcro band (not too tight— be careful!), then fold down the top of the sock over the band. She’s very picky about “wearing things,” but after a day or so, she completely adjusted to wearing a sock. The socks don’t slow her down at all— just like she normally does, she’ll get the zoomies, hump her bed, use her front paws (one of which is now sock covered) just like little hands to hold her bones or toys for chewing.Since using the socks for the last week, her foot is already 99% better! She can’t chew or lick the area effectively while wearing the sock, this allows us to apply some Rx mupriocin antibiotic ointment several times a day without worrying that she’ll ingest the ointment or re-infect the wound by licking. She could probably wear them outdoors just fine, but we’ve opted to remove them during her walks and at bedtime. First thing in the am and after walks, I’ll check her wound and reapply the antibiotic with a fresh clean sock (having 6 comes in handy!). The socks wash up really well, too— I just hand wash in the bathroom sink, then hang to dry.I would definitely recommend these for any dog who is suffering from paw injuries or infections, or for older or disabled dogs who need the stability of a non-slip bootie. Since our dog is a senior dog with a loooong body (which means she’s more prone to having spinal issues) and confirmation issues, after her wound heals we plan to hang on to these for any future needs she may have. One IMPORTANT thing: Be sure not to secure the elastic/Velcro strap too tightly— I inadvertently put the sock on too tightly once, and after several hours, removed it and noticed that her paw was swollen, and she had a bit of an indent from the band around her leg. I felt awful about it! So now I test the fit of the strap by making sure I can still slip my pinkie finger inside the sock (just barely!), which is tight enough to stay on, but not so tight that it would feel uncomfortable or cause any circulation issues. Like with anything you put on your dog, be sure to check the fit frequently, and frequently remove and check for any signs of irritation or discomfort.

Good for temporary use, but they don't last
Our Shetland sheepdog, Rosie, has discoid lupus that makes her paw pads sensitive and prone to cracking. We've experimented with a lot of boots and dog socks over the past year...these are simultaneously the best and the worst. They're the best because they're easy to put on, Rosie walks well in them (no tripping), they have good grip on our hardwood floors, and they stay on even when walking through a foot of snow. They're the worst because they tear after *one* walk. The sock in the picture here has been used for two, 15-minute neighborhood walks with Rosie. We can't afford to keep buying them so often, even though they work so well (before they quickly tear). We are buying Rosie some leather Dog Mocs next...fingers crossed they'll fit and stay on. In the meantime, we've switched to buying toddler socks and using the velcro bands that came with these socks to keep them up. This is working surprisingly well so far, and we've even found toddler socks with grippy rubber soles at Walmart.Overall, I'd recommend giving these a try; maybe your dog's nails won't rip holes in them instantly! And the velcro bands can easily be reused with toddler socks if that works for your pup.

Great anti-slip socks.
I have a 75 lb. GSD and ordered the “Large” size. They fit perfectly and are very easy to get on and off. You also get 3 pairs of socks in one pack which is a bonus!!!The anti-slip traction grip on these socks is very generous side to side and fully extends from the front of the paw right through to the back unlike some other styles where the grip is focused mainly under the front toe pads of the paw. Even if the sock shifts slightly on the paw it continues to provides excellent traction due to the double-sided design of the sock. They’ve made a huge difference for my girl. Very happy with my purchase.
