Bernat Satin Solid Yarn, 3.5 oz, Gauge 4 Medium Worsted, 100% Acrylic, Grey Mist Heather

I selected this yarn because I wanted to work a Contralto Shawl pattern. It is a vintage pattern and the original yarn was no longer available. In the comment section of the pattern, it was suggested that this yarn be used by doubling the strands, thus making a chuncky yarn.I am well into my project and very satisfied with the purchase.The yarn is soft, has good stitch definition, and I have not noticed any defects with yarn such as splitting or knots.I am pretty much a yarn snob but will use this yarn again when trying out a new pattern or making items for persons who will not care for products e.g. tossing them in laudry, wash with whatever.I especially like that there is no dye lot. So I can always add to my bag of stash yarn or purchase more should I run out mid knitting project.

This yarn is absolutely beautiful, not only the soft grey color but the texture is fabulous. Feels silky soft and easy to work with. I am very happy with this purchase. I am following in my Mother's footsteps and making my first full afghan for one of my sons for Christmas. This color and texture is very special and will add beauty to the overall appearance of the afghan. Once it is complete I will post photos.

My rating is based on CROCHET.I'd give this a 3.5 star if there was one, because there are a couple of other 100% acrylics that I like better (like Red Heart Soft and Willow Wash).PROS: Nice color range, soft to work with, glides over hook, soft finished productCONS: Not enough twist / untwists too easily (unless you're left-handed) --- note this is for CROCHET: if you knit you won't have this problem unless you're right-handed. (If you don't know what I'm talking about Google "z-twist yarn" or "s-twist yarn" --- either will bring up info for both). It's not too bad if you crochet through with it once, but if you have to frog your work and re-use the strand it is an issue.UNKNOWNS: I don't have enough history with this yarn to know if it pills or how badly it pills over time with washing.I bought this yarn because of the PROS mentioned above (Red Heart Soft and Willow Wash didn't have the colors I wanted) to make an afghan and am happy with how it is turning out. I'm just hoping the UNKNOWNS (pilling) won't come up to bite me.

Love this! I bought this on Amazon even though I was nervous about it matching the color you see online. It is very true to the color you see. I haven't had any problems using it (crocheting blanket for teen daughter). It is soft and pretty and I am glad I ordered it.

I was looking for an aqua closer to a blue, just like it shows on the website. But the actual color of the yarn is much more of a green, a teal, than an aqua. Very disappointing. The quality and feel and value of the yarn is great, but I can't get past the color NOT being what I thought I was buying. I'll keep it because I'm sure I'll find something to use it for.

I ordered a two pack of yarn and recieved only one skein of yarn instead of two. Not only that, but it is very small and not going to last very long at all, hence why I ordered two skeins.

J’avais d’abord pris la couleur prune qui était en « panier plus » à 3,68€ ça valait le coup de se jeter dessus !!La laine est très douce, j’adore le rendu une fois travaillée, ça peut faire aussi bien chic que casual.et la couleur est plus jolie en vraie que sur la photoDu coup j’ai commandé encore la couleur sarcelle (moi je l’ai payé 5,32€) et en plus je l’ai reçu en 3 joursLa couleur sarcelle aussi est très belle.Je me régale à travailler cette laineJe suis super contente de cet achat.Peut-être qu’Amazon la remettra un jour en « panier plus » n’hésitez pas, car au prix du panier plus elle est imbattable dans le rapport qualité/prix !
