Vantec2.5" HDD/SSD Bracket for 9.5, 12.5 or 15mm Drives

I am an IT person and I have bought about 10 of these over the years (not all from Amazon) to mount SSDs into computers both for my customers and for myself. These are very nice because they are metal and provide some heat dissipation for the SSD versus the plastic ones. I see some people complaining about the mounting hole size. It's not really an issue if you just use the size screw that fits the computer case and a little bit of oomph. It will re-size the hole in this drive tray and go right into the computer case. Plus many computer cases don't even require screws any more. They have quick release 3.5" trays and this will fit right into the 3.5" tray WITHOUT screws after the 2.5 drive is attached to it. It also works on some HP computers that only have 4 big screws with squishy washers that attach to the 3.5" tray and then slide into a locking mechanism in the case.

I purchased two of this model back in 2011, and I liked them so much that when I needed another SSD tray I looked up the model number and re-purchased it. They have changed the thread size of the screw holes on the sides, however, so this tray is no longer ideal for my use.While the screw holes on the sides of my older Vantec HDA-250M trays are threaded for the more standard HDD-size "6-32" screw, the screw holes on the sides of this more recent version are threaded for "M3" / CD-ROM-size screws (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_case_screws). In my particular Lian-Li full-tower, the drives mount on a rail system using rubber washers attached to the sides with long 6-32 screws. The screws included with my case for this purpose are about twice the length of normal 6-32 screws, and only half of the screw is threaded so that you can tighten it completely without crushing the rubber washer.Standard-size M3 screws were a no-go, but I rooted through my pile of computer screws and found four weirdly-long M3 screws that will at least allow this tray to be used with my case's rail system.I'm not sure why Vantec has chosen to use this thread size for a HDD tray. Maybe this thread size is becoming the standard and I just didn't realize it.

Happy with product. I thought I ordered the plastic version, but steel version showed up. Not a major issue for this particular installation, but ...

This mount is well made, and solid...It comes with 8 screws, 4 black screws to mount the SSD to the bracket and 4 silver screws to mount the bracket to the drive bay of your case...I own an OCZ bracket and it seems flimsy compared to this...Well worth the buy!

It would be nice if the product used standard screwed to mount like every computer case and hard drive.Vantec seems to think otherwise because the screws that are used are a touch smaller than the industry standard. As such if you have any cases such as the node 804 like I do, you end up with something that cannot be used. It can't be used because the node screws are the normal case standard but the vantec ones are micro sized

Everything came as expected. No problems at all.

Nice and sturdy construction. Well machined and does exactly as advertised. Very easily and securely holds my SSD. Recommend this to anyone looking for a 2.5" to 3.5" converter. Be sure to understand that this is not a converter to 5.25" drives.

前回別のところで購入したものと比べ、バリがほぼなく、塗装の質感が良いと思いました。塗装はつや消しのザラザラした感じの塗装2.5インチハードディスク固定ネジも付属でした。すごく良いとは言わまいけど、悪くない商品だったと思う。

2019年12月11日 499円で購入。12日にゆうパックで届きました。結論から言うと、買って良かったです。2.5インチのSSD(Crucial社 1TB)をPCケース3.5インチ用スペースに使用する為のブラケット(変換マウンタ)を探していました。心配していたネジの潰れは無く、Crucial社のSSDと相性抜群でした。ブラケット自体も安そうなアルミ類とかではなく、重厚感ある頑丈そうな作りでした。付属のネジは大小の2種類、4個ずつ。小ネジでブラケットの裏からSSDを固定。大ネジで横からPCケースに固定。2.5インチを増設する時はまた購入します。

Not much to say here. It's a piece of metal and it does the job.

Perfect for mounting an ssd in a hdd bay. Very rugged.
