Beautiful Damascus Steel Folding Knife This fully custom hand crafted folding knife has over 250 Layers, of hand forged and hammered 15N20 & 1095 steel. This Damascus mixture of steel and Carbon has an HRC approximately 50 to 60. The knife blade is 100% hand forged and is the results of hours of work. The Damascus steel used for this knife was created by forge welding multiple layers of 15N20 & 1095 steel into a solid billet. Many have had excellent results using this as a straight razor, but your mileage will vary depending on the individual knife and your skill with a sharpener. This folding knife is intended as a beautiful functional pocket or desk knife or even as a show piece. Heat Treatment: Excellent heat treatment to blade/ oil quenched. Our craftsman use heat treatment and oil quenching to create a perfect blade. The billet of the blade is forged, welded and hand hammered several times.

Not what I expected
While this looks neat the actual use is yet to be determined. it is not sharp at all upon arrival I will have to see if my husband feels he can get it sharpened to where it can actually be used to shave. The handle looks like cheap plastic not buffalo horn and the hinge is very loose on the blade connection.

Great piece of art. From the blade to the handle it was everything you would expect. Completely happy with it.

Not sharp
The razor looks really cool but is not sharp enough to shave with. The idea was to shave with it.

Not a functional straight razor!
This razor, though pretty, cannot be used for shaving. The steel will not hold a sharp enough edge. I was very disappointed when I got this and it was not shave ready. I took it to be professionally honed and the guy said what I'm telling you: the steel is too soft to function as a razor. Buyer beware.

I love it!
Quick shipment, beautiful Razor! Nearly shave ready out of the box! 50 laps and perfect! You have to know what you're doing, honing is truly a skill, but if you're good with a strap, this is a great razor for the price. And if not, you've got a great looking utility knife
