New formula is not the same
I have been using the Devita Ultra solar SPF 50 sunscreen for years. I loved this stuff more than any moisturizer I have ever used. High SPF, but went on smooth and completely invisible with no sunscreen smell. Kept my skin moist but never oily all day long and provided excellent sun protection. Light enough to wear under make-up and nice enough to wear alone. As someone with extremely fair and extremely sensitive skin, this was the only sunscreen/moisturizer I used on my face since the day I discovered it. It met every requirement: high SPF, physical block (no avobenzone), goes on smooth and invisible, not smelly, does not give me a rash, not crazy expensive. I recommended it to everyone and they all raved as well. Unfortunately there is something wrong with the new formula and it is completely unusable. My latest order came in the pump bottle shown in the picture (rather than the usual jar) and the lotion was nothing like the old lotion. The new formula was pasty and would not rub in. It left white pills all over my face and hands and I actually had to go wash my face because I looked like a pasty lint ball. I have been unhappy since that day because I am back to using my back-up sunscreen moisturizer (Alba organics, SPF 15 - decent, but not the wonder product the ultra solar was). I even tried to get the old formulation from my dermatologist, but it was the same bad formulation. All of my female relatives found the same issue when they bought new lotion recently (different cities, different stores, all the same bad lotion). I love this product so much that I will order it again in a few months to see if Devita fixes the formulation. Until then, I am on another search for the perfect face lotion.

Rolls off, makes skin feel super dry
I was really excited to get this, and then disappointed after I tried it. It pills up and rolls off of your face if you try to rub it in too much, or if you don't apply it to your whole face at the same time. Then you're left trying to sweep white stuff off of your face so you don't look like you dried your face with toilet paper or have extremely dry skin. At first I thought it might be that I applied moisturizer underneath it, but it does the same thing, even on a freshly clean face. It also makes my skin feel super dry. I have to apply pure shea butter to my whole face beforehand so my face doesn't feel tight and dry all day. Will not purchase again.

Goes on clear, but stings eyes, and doesn't prevent freckles!
PROS: This sunscreen has all natural safe ingredients, is a very high SPF, goes on clear (no whitish residue), and is very light and non-greasy. This sunscreen has the best rating for safety in sunscreens from the ewg.org website. Because it is not greasy at all, it can be used on oily skin and can be reapplied and reapplied throughout the day without building up grease.CONS: A complaint I do have is that if you get it near your eyes, this formula stings my eyes. It is actually unbearable. SO, to remedy that, I end up having to use a different sunscreen around my eyes. I use "Keys-Soap Solar Rx Therapeutic Sunblock" 30+ SPF around my eyes (see my review for that product) and so far, the Keys Soap brand has not stung my eyes. Another con is that it is not moisturizing, it can leave skin tight and prone to tiny lines. The fact that it is not oily could be a plus for some people, especially those with oily skin (see PROS above)=====================================================================================UPDATE: I've gotten more freckles with this product. I lowered my rating from a 4 to a 3. I don't think it works very well. It should say a 15 SPF, not a 50 SPF. False advertising! I'm still in search of a natural sunscreen that actually blocks out sun for hours. The instructions say to apply every 90 minutes (ridiculous)... who has that kind of time?=====================================================================================UPDATE: I've found another physical sunscreen I like better: Livestrong Thinkbaby SPF 50+. See my reviews for that. It is not perfect, so I am still searching for the perfect one, but it gets pretty close to perfection.

Best for my skin
Pilling:Yes, the product will pill during application if you don't take precautions. I have found that making sure I am thoroughly moisturized before application has helped immensely (I use straight blueberry oil), and on top of that, you have to apply to only one *section of your face at a time in quick sweeping motions, just enough to work it in, then leave it be and move on to the next section.(*cheek1, cheek 2, forehead, chin, nose, neck side1, neck side2, chest)This is the only SPF this high that works with my skin type - I'm sensitive to silicones, have mild rosacea, and the chemical SPFs make my eyes water like crazy. Otherwise, when I apply it well, it works as a great primer for makeup, doesn't have a white cast like I experienced with a lot of other (more) expensive brands, and actually helps me retain moisture, probably due to the aloe, glycerin, and Haluronic Acid.I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the pilling, but it's manageable.
