Stop
The rubber wears down and I get some movement after stepping down but all in all great product an extra rubber stop would make this a five star product.

Easy foot pedal, but loose
The unit looks great. The shaft was a little loose so the door moved a little (used in an RV). I made a piece out of a pvc block and inserted in the back which tightened the shaft up.

Look no further
I have a office door that will keep creeping closed on its own and it was super annoying. This works so good for the office door, when i bought another home and had the same problem with a laundry room door i already knew what to buy. This Door Holder is so easy to install and use it makes it a must buy in my opinion if you have doors that wont stay open. Once installed just press on on the top black rubber step with your foot to keep the door in place. There is a satisfying click each time you push on the rubber step which causes it to press harder into the floor. Especially useful for carpet. To release it just step on the second metal lever right below the top lever to release the hold. Its spring loaded so one light press is all that's needed. You wont have any problem closing your door once released. There are 3 screws that hold it in place and Its a really sturdy and solid build so i expect it to last a long time.

Love the ease of use.
Several folks in the Studio have trouble bending over to fiddle with the flip up (and useless) kind. This allows them to just step on the plunger to activate it, and tap the release to let it go. As it is spring loaded, it can (and does) hold open a large steel framed door no problem. Like that the tip is also replaceable, but unless you misuse the thing, most likely it will last forever.Only slight downside... getting it screwed into a metal door was difficult and I got the screws in at an angle. ALL My fault.. but a template for the screw layout printed onto the box would be a big help.

Durable and Efficient
Purchased for use on a high traffic door at the workplace. We went through a series of the traditional flip down door stops, and none, no matter how "heavy duty" held up more than about a month before they were so worn out that they would fall on their own and wouldn't stay in the up position.Have been using this for roughly 3 months and it looks and works like new. Much easier to use as well, since putting it down and lifting it up only requires a tap of the foot. Highly recommend.Update (1/28/16): Have been using for about 7 months now and it works great still. It's showing some signs of age in appearance, but not in performance. I'll never buy the other style door stop again!

Good solution for a sagging floor.
Sturdy, with a long throw. We live in a house that's 110 years old. The floors sag downward as they move away from the exterioe walls, so the gap between a door and the floor may be 1/2' when the door is ajar and an inch-and-three-quartes when the door is fully open. The rubber foot has a throw of 1.2 inches, so it works very well to hold the door in place as long as you only want it to be less than half open. No other solution has worked. It would be nice if they made a version with a longer throw, but I ain't complaining.

Very good but big
As usual with Amazon the product was delivered as promised and is very good BUT be aware it is BIG and industrial in nature. This will secure a very heavy door. There are others that are smaller and more appropriate for "normal" residential doors.

HD metal door stops
Ordered three more today for a business I service. As others mentioned, these are heavy duty for commercial use. If thats what you want these are great and will do the job for most any door. I would not use them for light duty hollow core doors.
