Get your millet going...
High quality millet. All edible - we've bought this several times and have never had a bad batch. The reviewer who claimed it was bird seed has either never seen millet before, or was talking about a different product.A tip: millet has a bitter outer layer similar to the saponin in quinoa. But unlike quinoa, the bitterness is not removed simply by rinsing. The best, and perhaps the only, way to remove the bitter layer is to heat the millet in just enough water to cover it, just to the start of a boil (bubbles forming, but not yet a rolling boil). Then pour off the boiling water, and rinse a few times in fresh water (best way is to use a metal strainer), before cooking.

taste good and convenient package
I regularly eat millet for my dish and the product meets my expectation. It is "hulled millet" and the grain is very pretty light yellowish and rounded and there is no chipped or broken millet. I cook the millet with other grains and this is tasty and very good combination with any kind of meat dish. What I really like this product is the package. It came in exactly same as the picture, a gallon size milk container. The container is very sturdy, easy to pour the grain, and half transparent to see how much the grain left in the container. I will definitely order more when I finish it.

but is container going to mess up if recycled as a milk jug?
This is very good millet. I use it in stews, soup etc. I am concerned that the jug it comes in may be assumed to be a milk jug when recycling and it has a different composition so that'd be problematic. It's #5 not #2 like milk jugs.

Great find
I was a little wary given the generic look of the container but this cooks up nicely. I have not come actoss other grains, debris when rinsing. Love that its organic. Love that when we are done with it we can recycle container. I have a millet beeakfast casserole that we love. This should keep us stocked for a while.

Great product, like the jug packaging
Really enjoy that the millet is in a jug- makes for easy storage in the pantry, versus having to clip a bag or pour into another storage. We cook it with brown rice in a rice cooker (after rinsing at least 4 times). Taste is great, easy to cook, will be a continuous customer.

Good, but why a plastic jug?
It's what I need for baking, but why does it have to be packed in a polyethylene jug?

I received mine during its expiration month?
This is about the third time I’ve ordered this product, and have had great experiences so far. Tastes high quality, and the expiration dates are usually years into the future, meaning it’s fresh. Well, today (April 2018) I received my new package of millet and checked the expiration dates - it’s for April 2018. Not ao happy to be receiving something older that might now go stale before I consume it.
