Though it arrived shattered, that has nothing to do with the quality, but the fault of the shipper and I can still use it for what I bought it for. It’s not a chalk, it’s more of a very soft crayon. An essential in my pastel kit
These are one of the softest pastels I have, and their square shape means there is always a ready edge to create a tiny glowing highlight or crest of a wave on top of other colors.
