The Cajun Gumbo Spoon, Set of 4 (Stainless Steel)

I have been using these spoons about eighteen months. They have not had rough use and are kept in an individual utensil storage tray.These spoons are crudely made. There are sharp edges on the bowl and bottom of the handle. The edge of the bowl is rough and unpolished. The polishing overall is poor and unfinished leaving burnishing, scuffing, and machining marks and a general dullness to the finish. The fleur-de-lis is off center on the handle on some of the spoons. The spoon is too small for chowder or gumbo and more appropriate for cream soups or soups with small pieces of meat and vegetables. The spoon does have a nice medium weight. If you are handy with a polishing wheel on a machine tool grinder, they can probably be cleaned up to look good.My apologies for this review, but I cannot agree with others who say these spoons are nicely made, etc.Personally, I was disappointed both with the size and the workmanship..Compare the photo - left to right, this spoon, Bed Bath & Beyond chowder spoon, Walmart chowder spoon.

Perfect for gumbo or soup! As a Louisiana resident, I had to have for my gumbo. They are beautiful and well made. They come beautifully packaged, and therefore would make a lovely gift.

I think the spoons are very cute and can be used for various purposes, not necessarily for gumbo. I bought them for my husband who is a gumbo lover, but I'm going to use them for soups and desserts as well.

Bought these as a gift for my wife and she loves them.
