Petcock began leaking within 12 hours of installing onto my 2005 883 Sportster. Could not get the leak to stop, so had to place a large plastic container lid under it to keep the gas from getting on my bike. I do not recommend this for use on anything.

I am writing this review for those of you who may be looking for a vertical petcock for your bike and might’ve been swayed away from this product by the other reviews, when I installed this on my bike it looked and operated better than the other one I had from a competitor brand. It is obviously important to have proper placement of the o ring to prevent leaks. And I think that may have been a problem in some other applications. Works great.

i dont usually write reviews but figure i may be able to help somone avoid issues as i had... well like many, i read the reviews and after reading the review about leaking issues, figured id still get it and maybe id put it on tighter, use teflon tape or the negative reviews were by morons... turns out, i got it,.... i got it alright.... it leaked. pretty dam bad. not from the twisty fitting part, but from the twisty-knob-turney part. Disassembled it to possibly reassemble it correctly but to no avail, leaked even worse. bad fitting components when tight tolerances are necessary. still hunting for a correct part

Fit and finish looked good. Problem is, after getting it installed it leaks around the valve. Too late to return it so I guess I waisted money on a subpar part.

Good build quality, and fit and finish. On some models you will have to use a vacuum cap to bypass the original fuel valve.
