The One Year Devotions for Couples: 365 Inspirational Readings

A great book for married couples and even for those to be married.

For the last few years, my husband and I have chosen a yearly devotional book to read each evening. This one, while we are only at the first 15 days of the year, has been thoroughly worth it. I would recommend your taking a look!

We had been married for 7 years when we finally picked it up for the first after receiving it as a wedding gift. Our marriage was a rock bottom point. God gave us a community and many resources to restore our marriage, and we credit this devotional as a critical tool. We have read it every night, taking turns reading, for 3 years. We even take it when we travel. We love that it is personal. We feel like we know David and Theresa and we identify with their struggles. We highly recommend it to all couples.

My husband and I have been reading this book for about a week now, and so far it has been a great tool to either get new perspectives or to reflect on things we already do for each other. Our marriage is in great shape, and we did not get this book for repair. What we did get the book for is a way to have devotionals in the morning before we go to work, so that we think positively about each other and our relationship throughout the day. This book provides a reflective question at the end along with scriptures throughout the devotional. This allows us to reflect, and bring the word of God into our marriage. This is a great devotional for couples. I like that each day is one page so it is not overwhelming.

We all can use help from time to time. Marriage is a work in progress and manuels are hard to come by. But this is a great couples book, steal away and load up on good sound advice. Then you can share with other couples that might be struggling. As a woman being married for 37years in todays world that isn't half bad, and to get a book that can offer guidance along the way is plus by all means. I am on the right track for this book let me see that I have not gotten off course, steady as she goes!!!!

We are constantly reminded how important it is for couples to pray together - I have heard a 5% divorce rate among couples who pray together vs. an overall 50% divorce rate, christians and non-christians. The thought of praying together is intimidating but this devotion is a great way for a husband to take the lead in this important area for a healthy marriage. Each page has a topic, scripture, devotion, short prayer and a challenge after which you can pray into your marriage - it is like getting a great counseling session each day. The Fergusons provide a very real, relevant and oftentimes humorous insight into important aspects for any marriage.

My wife and I are enjoying this devotional each morning. It is not an in depth study into God's Word, but it has a verse of scripture, an application story from the author's life, a prayer, and a conversation/application challenge. We take about 5-10 minutes each morning for this devo and prayer together. I highly recommend this devotional for couples who just want to spend a little time together each day in prayer and conversation. Not a Bible study format.

My husband and I were looking for a year devotional to do together, I really enjoyed the One Year Heaven On earth one so I thought this might be equally good.What a disappointment. I found the authors writing extremely dry, the stories they tell are way too focused on themselves, and are hardly relatable. The questions for the couple to ponder at the end of each devotional are hardly challenging or interesting enough to ask each other.We started to bounce around the book hoping there would be a few redeeming entries but it was absolutely dull and 'Christianese' beyond repair. I'm sure there are better books out there for down-to-earth people who want to grow in their marriages.

We do devotional as a husband and wife every morning, and this really helped our relationship alot. Very true and practical. I bought another one and gave it as a wedding gift. I Highly recommend for sure.

We love using this yearly devotional as a couple. As a busy family of four we unfortunately do not get enough one on one time to reflect on one another and our blessings, and this makes it easy to do so. A must read!

Exceptional book which fosters communication!!!!!Doesn't mean it is easy or not a good amount of work.Well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!
