caution - small ones
i failed at double checking the actual sizes before ordering, as you can see these are the small ones that were meant for toddlers and people who are malnourished that struggle to lift even a tin of beans, was lucky to get a 2.5KG weight on as you can see with the pics * check pic of the spinlock*more hassle than it is worth to send back... will keep this for the hamster to roll around on.other than that, they have no faults just double check the sizes.

Fit for purpose but suspect chrome
I like that these are quite long compared to my old York dumbbell bars which means you can put a lot more weights plates on to them. After a few weeks of use I have noticed that some of the chrome is starting to crack and peel, one piece sliced my hand open and became stuck below my skin. In contrast the chrome on my 20 year old York bars is almost immaculate.

Perfect Warm up dumbell bars
Perfect size bars for warm up reps without the over hang of normal dumbell bars. Would recommend using iron plates over vinyl, as iron plates are slimmer. You can fit a 10kg plate on each side.

Cheap but flawed
Low cost bars which are nicely long to comfortably hold 40kg in 8x5kg plates. Photo shows 30kg with plenty space for another 5kg plate each side. But the cost-cutting manufacturing method means long-term durability is significantly flawed. My other dumbbell bars are all machined from a single solid steel bar. The raised shoulders by the grip that the weights rest against are therefore integral on those and cannot move. With these budget bars though the shoulders by the grip are separately machined then look to be pressed on. I presume they are held by friction, I don’t see any weld. You can see a gap at each shoulder (when looking from the thread end). The photo shows a tarnished/corroded line where the shoulder ring joins the main bar. They have been made this way presumably to cut costs - it is far cheaper and quicker to start with a small diameter bar then simply cut the thread and knurl the grip (then press on shoulders) rather than start with a larger diameter bar and machine a lot of material away to make it from a single solid piece.Threads are shallow so spinlocks are not compatible with other standard bars (York etc). The photo shows a standard York bar alongside this new bar and you can see the threads are deeper on the York. Thread engagement is ok so they do hold the weights but it is a shame you can’t mix and match with other standard spinlocks and have to keep these bars separate. Spinlocks have the rubber inserts to help keep things tight. Quite a few budget bars skip this bit so it is nice to see the rubber rings on the spinlocks.People looking for a long 18in bar are probably wanting to stack it with lots of heavy plates the press fit method of manufacture is not going to be as robust and durable as a single-piece solid bar. I’m expecting those press fit shoulders to gradually slacken and work loose over time. When this happens I’ll look to spend more to get proper bars. They are useable, just don’t expect them to last forever, particularly when heavy weights are used. If I was buying again I’d avoid these, look elsewhere and spend a bit more.

Good strong bar
Very pleased with product. Only downside is that you can only put on one weight on each side due to lack of space. Ok for me but not made clear in advertising
