Not a fan of the writer, but lots of information
I do not like the way the writer conveys information, and I have found some of the hand drawn pictures/notes difficult to follow. The writer assumes previous knowledge (quite a lot of it) I was considering returning the book, but there is a lot of information some of which quite useful. So I think I will keep it, but I will continue my research on the subject hopefully find a better book.

Well structured and clear explanations
Mors really is one of the most knowledgeable bushcraft instructors alive. He has spent years developing and teaching his skills . This book reflects the real life experience that has been earned through trial and error. There is no trendy , flashy, "new" ways of doing things, just effective skills and advice. Mors has spent years teaching these skills, privately and as a college instructor, teaching everyone from outdoor professionals and search and rescue right through to young outdoors types. This experience as a professional educator shows in the structured and clear way that every subject is addressed in this book. I read a lot of outdoors books in addition to spending a lot of time outdoors and this is one of...if not THE best , that I have read.

A Classic for anyone interested in outdoor activities
This is on the the original bushcraft classics. Mors Kochanski was one of the people responsible so bringing bushcraft back into the public arena. This book is one that everyone interested in bushcraft should have. It is focused around North America and so some things are specific to that area. But the lessons can be related to anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. It came in Amazon standard packaging and was delivered in their usual efficient manner

So many uses
Great book. Now I will learn how to read and I will be set. Corona going to take over the world? No problem now I can live in the bush like a proper gypsy hermit with all this info. Lots of pictures so I can re create various shelters and feather sticks and really become one with nature. Worst case scenario or I can rip out pages and use them as my tinder with my new acquired firestarting skills. I’ll craft a yew bow to hunt muskrats and defend my forest camp from my enemies. To bad I live in a deciduous forest and some of the info is irrelevant for me but trees are basically all the same anyway are they not? I now walk through the woods harvesting fungi and fern leaves to bring back to my homestead to feed my wild rabid children. No school anymore due to the pandemic but I’ll give them a nature education with this book.
