Ok product, but beware.
You must be careful during checkout, alot of vendors sell this under this product description. There are different ones out there. Some come with a retail box, some don't. Some are Android 4.0.4 and mine was 4.1.1. It's works great, but if you like to ROOT or flash custom firmware BE VERY careful as you have to really hunt down the ROM's for this and flashing it is not easy. The factories in China that make this also make changes to the chipsets without making model number changes and use the general UG802 designation for it, making it very easy to mess up the device when you root or flash it due to improper chipsets in it. But like I said it does what it's advertised to do and I like it just for the sake of running a decent Android on my TV. You get what you pay for.

The best android mini pc
The android mini computers are groundbreaking devices and many were rushed to market this year. This resulted in poor software support and overheating. The UG802 overcomes these problems admirably. The software is setup so that you can easily navigate android features using your television. It is more like a media center than your phone desktop.I have run this machine at 1080p 60hz on my widescreen hidef with zero glitches. That's another thing that the competition can't seem to get right.Comparing this device to the infamous mk802 we can see that the Allwinner A10 chipset was ditched. This device sports a Rockchip RK3066, which is comprised of a dual-core Cortex A9 CPU and a quad-core Mali 400 graphics processor. The difference is processing quality is evident. This device is far superior. The main complaint that people will have about this device is it's lack of a power button. Remember, this is a linux based os. Every time that you cut power shutting down improperly the device will try to recover using fsuck on restart. This could cause the device to corrupt in short order. A very good reason not to use the usb port on your television to power this device. But what I discovered is that you can pair this machine with a wireless logitech keyboard that has a power button at the top. The power button on the keyboard is treated the same as the power button on your phone. If you press it momentarily the device will sleep. If you hold the button down it will ask you if you want to power down. You can choose the power down option and once the screen goes blank unplug the wall adapter. I've started leaving it plugged in and simply sleeping it when it isn't in use.The other thing that the device lacks is a button that places it in flash mode. You can place the device in flash mode using software but assuming that the software is bunk you actually have to open the device and short two pads to get it into flash mode using hardware. For this reason I'm docking a star. It is my hope that instructions will surface in later months showing us we can flash by imaging and booting off of an sd card.If you buy this product you should immediately do the following:-Pair it with a logitech wireless keyboard with a touchpad-Root the device using moborobo and superoneclick-Adjust the display settings to match your televisionOverall I'm very pleased with this device. I'm looking forward to developing some games that I can play on my television.

Many possibilities
I purchased the UG802 to connect to my entertainment system. I wanted to be able to use Google Apps and stream music and video. A few notes about this product:- It comes with Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) not Ice Cream Sandwich (4.04). A bonus that they should advertise.- You need to use the power supply provided. Simply plugging it into a USB port (I have one in the back of my receiver) doesn't provide enough power and will result in the device constantly rebooting and becoming unstable.- There are a lot of custom ROMs built for this already. I opted for one called Finless. It seems more stable with respect to the Google Play store.- It doesn't have Bluetooth and doesn't support a Bluetooth dongle. I suspect this will be addressed in one of the custom ROMS.- The audio and video streaming is very good. I was impressed with the way it handled Netflix streaming. I was even more impressed by the way it ran the often buggy Sirius/XM app.- The wireless range is not good due to a design flaw with the antenna. Luckily for me the device is about 2 feet away from my router.Right now this is pretty much a toy to tinker around with. The price is cheap enough to do this. But I suspect that when the custom ROMs become more sophisticated, this will become an integral part of my home theater.***UPDATE*** Be very careful when moving this device around. I had to move my stereo receiver the other day (the UG802 is connected to one of its HDMI inputs) and the HDMI cable got bent which broke it apart. Trying to fix this, I accidentally twisted the USB power cable and it literally ripped the USB socket out of the device. So it has been rendered useless. Not a flaw of the device just me not realizing I had to be so careful. You have been warned.

Same story as others have reported
At first the stick worked fine. Their seemed to be a problem with location I'd that prevented adding certain apps. It had Android 4.1 but seemed to need a more recent version upgrade to add many others. I might have figured out something there given more time. Other than that it worked fine for a few days and then nothing. I am not sure if it over heated or shoddy construction. The connectors are definitely not ready for prime time. Very flimsily attached to the devices circuit board. Even repeated plugging/unplugging of cables would sooner or later (sooner in my case) lead to similar problems. The only reason I gave it any stars at all is because it worked out of the box. But with the cheap construction issues that this and evidently other similar sticks that have been reported by others and now by myself.......I would not recommend this stick to anyone at the present time. If they ever get their act together mechanical construction wise and better quality control from the source I might change my thinking but not at the present.DO NOT BUYKudos to Amazon for issuing a quick and complete refund once the unit was returned to them. AMAZON IS THE BEST!
