A fantastic model with good non-LEGO parts
This is a great educational model, with a really neat mechanism. The parts are not genuine LEGO, but are made of compatible bricks that work well. There are quirks which I was 100% ok with but might affect your enjoyment.- There are no printed instructions, but these are easily accessible on the web and can be brought up automatically with a QR code they included. The instructions are very clear and are laid out in the style of genuine LEGO instructions.- the pieces are mostly indistinguishable from LEGO except for a few tricky to mould parts particularly a 1x1 piece with hollow pegs on 5 of its sides. Some of these did not quite have the clutch/ grabbing ability to hold together well when building the earth and the sun so you had to be pay particular attention during those steps. As an adult this is not a problem. A child might get frustrated so it something to keep in mind as the sun and earth are the first things you build and might turn off the builder to the whole build.Final thoughts: I am going to be using this in an educational setting. Not only do the kiddos get to learn about planetary rotation and solar / lunar eclipses but get a pretty advanced exposure to gear ratios. To this end I’ll buy multiple kits and have the kids build and rebuild the kits. If this is something you might be interested in, I would recommend a bit of LEGO blasphemy and (gasp!) super glue the offending black 1x1 black connector piece to the grey plates that holds the planet panels. You can look at my submitted photos to see exactly what I mean.I highly recommend.

It's not true Lego, but it's awesome!
Bought as a gift and was happily assembled. Works very well and looks really cool. If you own a Lego motor and gears it can be gear driven instead of the crank handle. Instructions were fine, no missing parts.

Came with defective item, but overall it's a great item
This item came with ONE defective gear. And it's enough to make the whole thing not working properly.Ask for a replacement, and the replacement came with no problem. Easy to build with clear instructions.Finished product it working as expected with the Earth and moon rotating.

A great MOC design
The media could not be loaded. This Earth, Moon and Sun Orrery is an amazing custom model design by Jason Allemann. (Don’t know why Lego doesn’t make a set like this. ) My kids had a great time building the Orrery. There is a instruction book in the package and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The model can be motorized by replacing the crank with a motor. (We have a lego EV3 set so we used that motor.)

Really cool! For older kiddos.
I bought this for my homeschooling lesson. It took us about 10 hours to complete. My 6th grade was even struggling to do it alone as there are many moving pieces. It is a really cool project when done and worth the time and effort. My only complaint is the sun is really heavy and keeps falling and breaking apart and is difficult to put together.

Best non-official kit I’ve seen yet.
Outstanding kit (some flaws) for a set that was never produced by lego. It’s a shame that lego doesn’t produce these, there’s clearly a market, but at least there are fairly high quality non-official brands that can do it.Don’t get me wrong, there are problems. Not all the pieces fit perfectly, some need to be shaved, some glued. But for a 10-12y/o this would still be doable.Like the other reviewer said, start your build by super gluing the black 6-way connectors. Life will be much easier. If you want the official experience, you can find the bricklist online and order official parts. It’s a bit expensive, but for some I think that would pay off.

Surprizingly Accurate
In this piece of construction, a moon lap around earth is 28 earth rotations and an earth lap around the sun is 363 earth rotations. Pretty darn accurate! Did not really expect it.If I were to suggest more precision, 1-the moon orbit angle and 2-the sun rotation to be in 27 earth laps instead of 25. Cannot ask too much. Thank you for the mind behind it.

Intricate design.
I received item in record time to be given as a gift. Seller was very accommodating with all inquiries. Was able to access instructions easily. Assembling could be a little tricky , but model looks awesome when completed.
