Closet Mates 12 Count Over the Door Hanging Purse Racks

hooks are flimsy and wider than usual internal door. Belt barely fits standard door height. Plastic slider-hooks are loose and glide freely. They do hold mid-size purse, but if you put assorted purse of different sizes, they don't look as nice as pictured and create pretty bulky arrangements even if evenly distributed. Another thing - if you open the door, whole arrangement wobbles sideways and you have to catch and reposition every time you open the door. I was trying to make it work as cap holder - caps are not heave enough to weight down plastic hooks, you need to pin it down. Also flimsy. Whole thing is just poorly designed and I cant really find application for this. Package should be new, but arrived opened. Item obviously was returned, probably not one time and customer didn't even bothered to try to make item work. Returned, I paid $10 for idea, but probably wouldn't keep it for free. Happy with Amazon Customer Service, not happy with item. Just another item which looks awesome on picture

I'm so impressed with this! I read several reviews before purchasing, and I have to admit, I was a little worried about what to expect. It comes in a plastic package, and contains instructions on how to attach to a wall. I personally have mine on my closet door so I disregarded these.Installation was SO fast and simple! It took me five minutes to attach the two lines at the top and bottom of my door. They fit my door perfectly, and the lines do stretch, so unless you have a really unusual door size, you should be fine with this product.One of the most common complaints I saw about this was that the hooks to hold the bags are flimsy, cheap, and don't hold the bags. I disagree with this overall sentiment. They ARE plastic, and yes, they're probably cheap, given the price of the product, but they are NOT flimsy and they DO hold the bags. I have 13 bags hanging on this altogether, some large tote bags, and even two bags on one hook (just for appearance sake, I have one more hook but I thought the display looked nicer this way) and I have no issues with it. If all of your hooks are breaking, either you have a faulty product, or, your bags are too heavy. DON'T PUT BAGS ON THIS WITH A BUNCH OF HEAVY STUFF IN ALL OF THEM. Too much weight would break almost anything, and so just keep that in mind. I don't think that your bags have to be totally empty, I have a couple odds and ends in each (hand sanitizer, tissues) that go with me wherever I take a bag, but obviously those don't break the hooks. Just mind you don't overload the bags before hanging them up, and I doubt you'll have an issue.The last thing is how nice this looks in my bedroom. I have two closets, besides my main door out of my room. Before, all my bags hung on my doorknobs. Every time I opened a door, everything fell off. You have NO idea how much more convenient this is until you try it. So, I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone in need of something similar, I think it's a great deal and it works SO well. Update: I have had this for a few years now, and am down to about 4-5 hooks... this is due to them breaking off from just passing the purses with a brushed shoulder. This is because as I stated in my first review, the hooks are plastic not metal covered leather. It has served it's purpose but isn't standing the test of time. Good purchase if you can place them on a door that is wide enough to pass without disturbing them too much.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I love my new purse hanger, BUT the hooks are plastic, not metal covered with "leather" like the closeup picture shows. One of them broke, I assume during transit (bubble wrapped envelope, seller should use a box instead). I tried to super glue it, didn't work. Despite this, I love it and am uploading a pic of all my purses, which includes some large bags and small bags. I found my smaller clutches went better on the bottom, despite the advertised pic showing them increasing in size going down. It's a good and simple design that does what it needs to do. I wish the hooks were stronger though, over time I hope it doesn't warp or break.

Over time the plastic hooks break off. I have 6 of these straps and have had them for a few months and many of the hooks have broken off now. Of course without hooks, they're useless. And they break off with just light things hanging on them, like a reuseable grocery bag, or a bike helmet. I'll come home from work and stuff will just be on the floor. Sometimes they break in the middle of the night. Many of the hooks are on the verge of breaking - the plastic is split on one side so it's only a matter of time before it breaks off altogether. I imagine that within the next 6 months all the hooks will be gone and then the straps will have to go in the trash. The hooks themselves, if they don't break, don't tend to stay in place. They slide down the strap if you try to hang anything that has any weight to it, like a purse. Really wish they made these with metal hooks!

Based upon my experience and the reviews of this product, its like a crap shoot as to whether you get a usable product. When I opened up the package and took out its contents, a broken piece of plastic tumbled out. It was one of the hooks from one of the racks. I figured "well I still have 7 other hooks on that rack to work with" and did not get overly concerned. I installed both racks onto my door without any problem, however, when I went to adjust the hooks on the rack that had one broken hook already, another hook broke off in my hand. So I tried hanging a light handbag from another hook and it seemed fine. Upon hanging a couple more handbags, the remaining hooks broke off one by one until one hook whole hook was left. That rack is useless to me. The other rack must have been made in a different factory or batch because I have all kinds of handbags hanging from it and it is fine - it works very well for my purposes. Obviously there is a quality control issue here. I wish they would make the same product using metal hooks like other reviewers have exclaimed. Good luck if you order this product.

Leider passt die Halterung nicht an die Tür. Die Metallklemmen lassen sich auch nicht "aufbiegen" um die nötigen mm zu erzielen, sondern brechen durch. Habe versucht das Band mit einem einfachen Türhaken zu befestigen aber dieser wird von dem Gewicht verbogen. Größere Handtaschen halten auch nicht sonderlich gut auf den kleinen Plastikhaken. Für mich ist das Produkt nicht zu gebrauchen.

Es un buen producto, sin embargo los ganchos que son de plastico y se rompen relativamente rapido (al momento se han roto 2)Si los ganchos fueran de un material mas resistente seria un producto genial.

I've been looking for space saving options to hang my purses. I was ecstatic to find this on Amazon. We have tons of doors in the house, why not utilize that space? It arrived in good sturdy packaging so the product was in mint condition when I opened. True to description on the website, it comes with 2 cords and each had multiple plastic hooks/clips on them that are movable. Great concept but I'm absolutely shocked by the terrible quality of this product. 2 plastic hooks broke off after very light use (second day!!). I placed 2 purses (resulting in 2 broken hooks so 0/2) on them and they were empty average sized purse so weight should not have been an issue (they broke during my testing phase).It's quite unfortunate as it's a great concept (great space-saving), I just wish they used higher quality materials (maybe metallic hooks?). I'm not sure what kind of purses they have in mind for this product but definitely didn't work out for me.

Terrible product. Bought this for my girlfriend as part of her birthday present. It looked really nice at first but then on moving the door or knocking it very gently several of the clips have fallen off and broken and now it looks horrific.Do not buy this item it is cheap and tacky. Spend a little bit more and get something more robust
