I have two pair of these shears. The are BY FAR the most superior shears I’ve ever used. The edge holds very well and only needs sharpening once a year if properly maintained. Super sharp—I cut clean through the tip of my little finger with these while trimming a thread in a rush. They cut through silk, canvas, leather, chiffon, or burlap with ease. I work in the theater and fashion industry and they get a daily workout. Their weight and balance is superb. Even with carpal tunnel and arthritis my hands don’t ache or burn after a full day of cutting. Only issue: you need to find a very good sharpening person as the angle of the blades isn’t typical to US shears and seems to be part of the reason for Shozaburo’s magic sharpness.
