Much Much better than I thought it would be!
This is an increble product!I have 2 very large and active German Shepherd dogs that ride with us in our SUV - and safety has been a worry. So I read every review of every product online that I could find for vehicle barriers and doggie fences. They all have some sort of problem - because dogs come in all sorts of varieties and what works for one person won't work for another. I ordered the Pet Net, and it wasn't "quite right" because of my dog's persistent nature of pushing up into the front seat on the console of our SUV to be with their humans. It wasn't a product flaw, but is my dog's personality. So I left a previous review on this product that was less-than-stellar, and if I could find that review online, I'd remove it because the COMPANY for Pet Net is one of the most helpful I've ever worked with!!When I contacted them to return the Pet Net, not only did they offer me a full refund, but also referred me to 2 companies with other solutions for me. I ordered one of those other vehicle barriers (Vehicle Pet Barrier with Door from Hunter K9) and installed it - THEN to make it even more secure, I installed the Pet Net again behind the Vehicle Pet Barrier, and now I have the absolute perfect solution to my dogs pushing into the front seat. This is wonderful - exceptionally great - and all because Pet Net as a company was willing to take the time to help me solve my problem. And their product, now installed for a good use, is perfect as well. I'm going to recommend it on my GSD discussion boards too - because all of us are worried about our driving safety, as well as our dog's safety if we had an accident.June 2013 update- 2 years Later and the Pet Net is still perfect . I have bought a second one to put between my back seat and the rear section go the SUV, for our third and fourth German Shepherds - the whole family now goes on trips, and we couldn't do it so easily without this product!!Thank you Pet Net!!!!!

Disappointing awkward fur magnet
So between the promising photos and the rave reviews, I felt thirty bucks was a deal on this square of netting. The packaging made it seem promising when it arrived, complete with detailed installation instructions. The thing is, when I tried to put it up in my mid-size sedan, it was floppy and awkward. It only fits nice and snug and flush with your seat backs if you have handles placed right at the headrest like shown in the picture. If you have handles in the roof that are closer to the back seat, guess what - there's a nice little gap for Fido to wriggle through to the front seat, where he really wants to be. Same goes for the bottom - if your console is flush with your seat placement, great, otherwise, there's a gap. The net doesn't really go up as high as it appears in the photo, but that could be my car. It seems like great idea for a big dog, but for my 25-lb terrier, it's got too many weak spots where he can get through. Also, this thing is a total dog hair magnet. Black net + white dog = furry clogged up mess. Perhaps it could be hand-washed, but the rivets are iffy in terms of rust potential with water. A while back, I bought a smaller back seat barrier by Outward Hound that was like a tenth of the price and it had adjustable straps, which worked so much better. For thirty bucks, I thought I'd be getting something of higher quality, I suppose. So far, we've only had a couple short trips in the car and the dog has yet to outsmart the net, so I guess it's effective for the purpose of its design, but adjustable straps, instead of bungee cords would probably make this a more snug fit. I'll keep it up for now because I don't have anything else, but if you have a dog with any determination, I'd suggest another product.

Pretty good deal
We have a metal bar type barrier in one SUV and this mesh in another SUV. We have come to prefer this one. The metal one needs constant adjustment or tightening. It also tends to rattle a bit if we don't babysit it all the time. The mesh barrier has done a great job of containing our two dogs. We had to do some customizing when installing this, as our SUV does not have handles exactly where the one in their ad does, but we figured it out and it has stayed put. And it is easy to see rear traffic through and it does not rattle or need constant adjustment. The only reason I gave it a four is I do wonder how it can handle very large dogs or dogs that are not well mannered and would test the strenght of this constanly with paws going at it. Our dogs are 50lbs each. They "tried" the barrier a bit with their faces, gave up and now accept it. I much prefer this over anything else we have tried. You may need a few extra bungees to make it fit your car.

Prius Peace
My Pet Net arrived in a timely manner but was missing one of the bungie cords. Fortunately, the seller was Johnny-on-the-spot when I explained the problem and sent another one in a timely manner. The net does not install as well as I'd hoped, since the clothes hanger/grabs are situated over the doors rather than between them in my Prius.I keep my back seats down almost all the time for my dogs (a Lab and a Golden Retriever). My Lab's brother, Smokey, lives up the street but spends a great deal of time at my place, so he goes with us when we go to the beach or for walks on the local haul roads. Unfortunately, Smokey has no car manners and wants to be in the passenger seat. The net keeps him in back, whether I'm driving or have parked and left the vehicle. It's nice not to have muddy wet dog footprints on my front seats, additional scratches on the dashboard, or toenail punches around the windows. It's also easy to put up and take down, and the bag for it is also nice to have.

Great, simple design -- assuming it fits well enough in your car
I bought 2 of these, one for my BMW & one for my Volvo. Both were easy to install & very simple in design, and I love the fact that they can be easily removed & re-installed in less than 5 minutes for when I am temporarily not transporting my dog. Only issue is that the design allows a large enough gap at the top that my dog has on one occasion chosen to (successfully) jump OVER the barrier into the front seat. And my dog is not that small -- 40+ lbs. Since that one time, she has not jumped again, so the barrier is so far working well, but the possibility exists that she will choose to do it again. Nevertheless, I like the product very much & I'm glad I bought it.
