A good model for those who want simplicity.
This model is a great way to build models for those with limited space or to fit your budget. I like them for the way they don't take too much space to display. It's a simple model with a pilot and crew chief, not much else to them. They are packed with a clear swivel mount to use as a way to display them. They are made in the USA, not a foreign make. Get one and build it. You won't be disappointed.

Best option to build a 1950's Revell kit without paying collector's prices.
This is a reissue of the Revell P39 kit originally issued in 1955. It still has the embossed markings (they can easily be sanded off) present on the original kit and most, if not all, kits of that period. The kit includes newly printed decals which can be used, or if one is so inclined, the markings can be painted using the embossed areas as a guide. While it is not to todays standards, it still builds into a nice looking model. If the model stand is not used, a support is provided to place under the rear fuselage. The instructions state to glue it to the fuselage. However, other options are: (1) Use white glue to attach it as it can be removed without damaging the model or finish if it is later removed. (2) Add weight to the nose area (inside) to balance the model on all 3 wheels. However, doing so may make it too nose heavy to keep balanced if the stand is used. I have the original, unbuilt, Revell kit and 2 of these kits. This reissue lets me build something from my childhood I wanted but did not buy.

Parts do not fit together well
Many of the smaller parts were difficult to hold and place in position for a 76 YO helping an 8 YO. The parts did not fit together well and I did not have the proper tools to make them fit. It was a frustrating building experience and it all went in the garbage. It was NOT worth the price!

Simple kit
Although this is a fairly simple kit from Atlantis Models, it can build up to make a nice addition to your collection. It says it is 1/46 scale and it looks very close to a 1/48 scale, so it would fit in with other models of that scale. If you are a builder whom likes lots of fine detail, this kit is not for you. Although it should be easy to add some detail if you wanted. Since I am older and the eyes are not as good as they once were, I like these kits which are releases of older kits. I have enjoyed building several Atlantis kits and find all of them enjoyable as I don't build them for any contests, but only for myself. One thing I don't like is the fact the decal outlines on molded on the plastic. But Atlantis does include some simple decals, and a very nice display stand. Also, the prices are not outrageous. I would recommend these kits for someone looking to build a simple nice looking kit. Probably would appeal more to beginners or older builders like myself. For those builders, highly recommended.

Good Nostalgia Project
Might not be the most detailed, but if you built this as a younger you, or couldn't afford it then this is a really good 'nostalgia' project. Mounding is good, and overall the result is par for the original era of modeling.

It is going to take some work...
This model does not fit together very well. Some of the panel lines dont match up and you will have to carve, whittle and putty everywhere to get it to fit. The decals are a little thick and take extra work to get them to set and sink in. On the plus side it's great to see a p39 as it is not as glamorous as a 109 or spit. The panel lines and rivets are great and the prop fits tight and spins. Not a beginners kit but great for someone who loves a challenge!
