I think I spent the same off time assembling as removing styrofoam tiny balls from each piece prior to taking each part from the box so that I don’t leave a trail throughout the house. Part 2 was removing the styrofoam from my clothing.Definitely the worse styrofoam issue ever in my life.Desk came with no issues. Looks and feels good and sturdy.

Drawer is cheap feeling

For $65 this desk was a great buy. It is attractive and minimal, yet sturdy enough. The reason for 4 stars on the assembly is that the instructions were not 100% complete, which left me making some educated guesses. For me that worked out, but it could add stress for someone who needs detailed instructions. Other than that assembly was straight forward. An allen wrench is included. You'll also need a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the cams and maybe a rubber mallet in case any of the dowels have a too- snug connection. For sturdiness, it's mainly particle board, so while it's a far cry from solid oak, it's stable, not rocking or anything like that. The cross-piece across the back is doing its job, as are the metal X-frames in the side pieces. The only negative so far is that to shut the drawer all the way, I have to give it an extra push at the end, otherwise it stops while still sticking out 3/8". Also the round stickers that cover some assembly holes on the legs are not very sticky. I will probably supplement mine with some glue because I'm sure they will soon fall off. I should note that the bottom of the drawer is simply a piece of heavy cardboard. Doubtless this will fail over time, at which point if the desk is still in good shape, I plan to replace the cardboard with a piece of thin ply birch, about 1/16". Overall, I am very pleased with the value for the money so far. The desk looks very nice and is working well for us.

Overall, this was a perfect desk for me. It seems very sturdy. The only problems I had with it was a chip in one of the pieces. Thank goodness it was in one of the drawer pieces and it doesn’t show. Also one of the screws came loose and it made the hole bigger. I was able to fix that as well by using another/ longer screw. The directions were a bit of a pain. There were only pictures to follow. I felt like they were a little hard to follow. All said and done, I would buy it again.

It’s a beast to assemble. I read ahead. Directions seemed clear, I was plowing away and then *BOOM*. Had to disassemble almost completely and start over. I’ve had 55 years of putting together furniture (especially from that big box blue and yellow Scandinavian store), so I’m far from a novice. It’s a good thing I liked everything else about it. I bought it to hold a huge very heavy aquarium for our bearded dragon. It’s bearing up extremely well under the weight and her crazy scurrying that sometimes moved the old stand (ok, that one had wheels on it, so….). I would also say the center drawer isn’t meant to hold much and needs a little nudge to close the last inch or so. Otherwise, it is attractive for our purposes and we are pleased.

It does take a bit of efforts to put it together. Unlike some of the other reviews, everything came together very well for me, and the instructions were easy enough to follow. No words, just pictures. Very much like the furniture one would get from Ikea. It took me about two hours, and some redo because of missed steps. Lots of patience is required.Once it is completed, it is sturdy but because it is relatively light, it will move if I pushed off against it. For the value, I honestly don't think you can beat it. It is exactly as advertised, and I got the exact table I was looking for.

I needed a new printer stand, but opted for this desk instead, because it fit with my computer desk. I use the drawer for my printer papers. I put it together almost by myself and I'm a 72 year old female. The only thing I needed help with was putting the top on. The drawer, however, was a bit tricky getting it to slide into the guides straight and it is somewhat stiff, but I won't be using it much, so it's not really an issue for me. I would have given it a 5, otherwise. It arrived 2 days earlier than expected. The packaging was a bit beat up, but had no internal damage. The pictorial directions were easy to follow, as long as you laid it out like it is in the drawings.
