I really like this small safe. Recvd a dented box deal and couldn't be more happy. The finger print open is the only issue as it really needs to sit perfectly on sensor when trying to open. I use the key more than i'd like to. Perfect for money jewelry weapons passports etc. Installing it is as simple as measure holes, mollys and screws. Thumbs up

This is quick easy to get into with a fingerprint scanner. The only downside is the beeping when open. While convenient to not forget it being open, it can become annoying when needing some extra time in the safe. End of the day I can live with it and it works well.

This exactly what i wanted very well built for the type of safe it is. Latching mechanism is solid can't be pushed, pried, or bounced or rattled open like other safes like this. The only weak point of this safe is that pesky learn button that Plagues most these types of safes. Its pretty much on the same spot on most of them and easily defeated by any one with a paperclip. All someone will have to do is manipulate the paper clip to push button so they can scan their finger print and open the lock box. That's why i knocked off one star. However the good news is. This problem has a pretty easy solution. The button is being held in place by a single nut that is only finger tight. You can drill a 1/4" hole in a bottle cap and tighten it with the same nut. That way you can still access the button but it's covered along all sides. Or what I did is there's plenty of room in the battery compartment I simply relocated the button into the inside of the battery compartment since i won't be using it each time I open the safe. And If the Safe were to lose the fingerprints scans while changing the battery it's easily accessible. The biometric scanner works very well. Unless your fingers are wet. The keypad also works flawlessly. Very well painted. Looks really nice. Since the safe is black it's dark inside. I easily remedied that with a small light. There's plenty of room and holes to bolt from the back or bottom.

After trying for over an hour I finally gave up trying to program this safe. The instructions have huge gaps in how to program it. I was successfully able to program for one finger, but every time I tried a second it wiped out the first. The instructions say to scan for more fingerprints with no instructions how. I was completely unable to set the code on it. The instructions say how to do it, but do not give a starting point. No matter how may ways I tried it, it would not work. Now I was willing to let Barska help me, but it seems their customer support is email only. When it comes to troubleshooting, email is worthless to me. If there is no telephone support there is no support. I am returning the safe as I will not deal with a company that does not support its products properly.Edit 11/25 - I managed to get someone at Barska to call me. We did some troubleshooting only to determine it was a faulty safe. I got the impression that quality control of safe's sold through Amazon might be lacking. Safe was returned and money refunded

Disappointed right from the minute I unpacked it.The batteries they sent with obviously old. There was a lot of corrosion all over they batteries and in the back they came in. I didn't even bother taking them out of the bag.I heard something rattling around in it so I removed the cover for the mechanism only to find that there was a screw bouncing around in it. The screw was for one of the slides for the bolt. Not loose completely off so I put it in where it belonged.There must not be much quality control at this company.Although the locking mechanism is kind of neat and seems to work well; Print reader etc.....The rest of it leaves much to be desired.It's basically a tin can with a nice lock. Very thin metal.The door doesn't close snugly. There's over 1/4 inch of slop in it when it's locked.Seems to me that for $178 I shouldn't be having to deal with cruddy batteries, parts not installed correctly and pretty much a sub-par product.If I was to choose again it would not be this product and doubtfully this company at all.

The safe is working pretty much as expected. Plenty of room for the gun and other valuables. The key pad is a nice feature - the scanner can be fussy at times and having the keypad to open the safe is quicker when this occurs. Not sure what affects the performance of the scanner because it usually works the first time but all too often it takes multiple attempts to get it to unlock. And yes I have entered multiple prints with different positions - maybe I need to enter some more to get it to open on the first attempt. I also like the backup battery feature incase you forget where you hid the key - haven't actually tried it but I assume that it will work if I ever need it.Overall I am happy with this purchase.

while there are more expensive safes this one is more than up to the task of keeping things secure. only down side is I regret not buying one that was a little bigger, my fault not the manufactures. defiantly recommend to anyone looking for a good quality safe that will not break the bank.

I don't understand why people are giving questionable reviews about this safe. So what if there aren't "many" reviews, I bought this safe and it's the best safe ever! I keep my firearms in it to secure them from my daughters, along with documents... It opens by pressing number zero followed by your fingerprint. If you follow the directions on registering fingerprints it works perfectly. It looks super cool, the keypad works perfectly and the key is a clever back up in case I'm ever arrested and need a family member to get cash out of it for me. I'm not getting paid for this review and nobody gave me the safe to get me to write a review. I usually done give 5 star reviews but this safe is awesome and worth every single penny.
