I bought this model and built it for my mother as a Christmas gift. I took my time, so it took a good 6hrs to build. The result was a beautiful antique style jewelry box full of detail with functionality. And when my mother unwrapped it and realized I had to build it and how long it took, she was overwhelmed. A fun project and perfect gift. Take your time and use plenty of wax to lube the moving parts. I basically melted the wax on a spoon and poored it in. No problems. All motion is smooth.

I'm surprise by how smooth the mechanic opening of the whole box. I have fun time put it together. Some parts are challenging and seems impossible but it can be done. If you part break, look for a replacement in the extra sheet (I wish I did)

Great product, good engineering and material. I have put together several Wood Trick projects and they all have been a pleasure to work with. I like the fact that all the pieces are made from the same size wood, very sturdy. Some companies use thinner wood which makes the project flimsy. Thank you Wood Trick for hours of enjoyment!

The media could not be loaded. I took around 10-18 hours not including staining the wood to ensure I was only judging the manufacturer and not my own mistakes. This would have gotten 5 stars if not for the things that I couldn’t fix, such as the gap in the 2nd level compartment or the uneven leaves.Pros:- Pretty- Stainable/Paintable- Lots of space for size- Sturdy- Included tools are helpful- Wood is thick enough to support piece removal- Fun to build/Easy to understand- Great engineering MECHANICALLYCons:- Some instructions lack detail (lever position) or forget things altogether (sanding/waxing recommendations) while in other places there’s so much detail it’s easy to miss and screw up (pivoting drawer gear/wood trick panel).- Some parts are loose when it should be tighter and too tight in other places.- Too little sandpaper- Rubber bands do not have enough tension to pull the lid (and the rest of the box) open.- If the finished box ever breaks, good luck taking it apart to fix it; lots of pieces only interact one way, meaning once it’s in, it’s in for good.Tips:- Take your time- Use the hammer to connect parts and the key to increase surface area for toothpicks- Pay close attention to the instructions and make sure your model looks EXACTLY like the one in the step you’re on.- Sand and wax thoroughly where they tell you to in addition to the tops of the bottom drawers and where the clasp and lever intersect.- Check for splinters and bigger chunks that come off the frame and stay attached to your pieces.

Pros- beautiful lookingCons- difficult to assemble. We have a lot of experience doing these. We actually make these and gift them. A couple of pieces broke.Customer Service is AWFUL. Like -1/5. I had to email them several times, even though the broken parts involved pieces from all 5 boards, they offered to only replace 2, and wanted me to pay to replace the others.If you get it great, if you are better off praying than dealing with their customer service, who try to sell you more stuff to fix an incorrectly made item.I hope the company reads this, as I told them I would post this after they refused all of our offers to try to make this right. I rarely have written a negative review, but these folks earned it.

The media could not be loaded. This puzzle was a challenge and I have to say that there is a small glitch in the mechanism that I couldn't figure out so the bottom drawer protrudes just a little--hardly noticeable. I gave this to my daughter on Christmas with a special note inside and she just loved it and was impressed that I put it together myself. I also used sharpie markers to color it in gold and silver which made it stand out even more. Highly enjoyable project.

Bought this for something to do! I didn’t think my fat fingers would be able to assemble this but was surprised that I did. It was frustrating at times but very rewarding at the end. I plan on trying another one of their products

Pretty but so much smaller than expected, the size is disappointing, otherwise it is attractive

I've done a few of these puzzles, this one is very good. Doesn't break easily, and the instructions are very easy to follow. It works and looks great

Also,ich lese hier schlechte Bewertungen, die 1 Stern gegeben hab, weil etwas kaputt gegangen ist.Das finde ich nicht gut.Ich bin niemand der gerne Bewertungen schreibt aber hier denke ich ist es nötig!Ich liebe es zu puzzeln und hab eine neue Herausforderung gesucht. Hiermit hab ich sie gefunden. Es ist knifflig! Die Teile raus zu brechen ist nicht immer einfach aber machbar! Sie zusammen zu fügen kostet Geduld und Fingerspitzengefühl aber auch Kraft.Dass man Teile schleifen muss, sehe ich als selbstverständlich... Es ist schließlich Holz!!! Das beigelegte Schleifpapier dürfte gerne größer sein. Auch das Paraffin ist nützlich und oft zum Einsatz gekommen. Ich hab allerdings zusätzlich spezielles Öl benutzt welches ich zuhause hatte. Das hat mir sehr geholfen. Vielleicht könnte man das ja ändern.Im Großen und Ganzen kann ich nicht sagen, dass mich irgendetwas gestört hat. Ich hab ca. einen Tag gebraucht und fand es sehr schön. Es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ich werde definitiv wieder eins machen!

Idea molto ingegnosa, prima volta che compro un articolo di questo tipo e mi ritengo molto soddisfatta, le istruzioni sono estremamente semplici da seguire, alcune parti sono un po' difficili da assemblare perché gli incastri sono assolutamente precisi e serve un po'di forza ma niente di infattibile, ho usato sempre il dischetto di paraffina sia per gli ingranaggi che per i tasselli da incastrare e mi ha facilitato il lavoro, ho anche levigato gli ingranaggi e le parti con il foglio di carta vetrata in dotazione, perché staccandole dai supporti a volte rimanevano alcune irregolarità, purtroppo mi è caduto il pezzo che tiene il coperchio e si è rotto il dentino che serviva per incastrarlo, quindi ho dovuto incollarlo e c'è stato solo un intoppo a montaggio finito, la scatola non si chiudeva più, il problema era una parte che non era ben incastrata quindi assicuratevi che tutto sia ben stabile, sistemato il problema come si vede dal video ora tutto funziona perfettamente. Ottimo acquisto, consigliatissimo.
