Pravana Chromasilk Express Tones - Violet, 3 Oz (I0097552)

I am 98% natural gray with the bang area being 100% white. I get about 2" cut off my hair approximately every 6 weeks. I color my hair at that time. Anything that was processed with black is now brown. This time I used Lumishine 1N Black first, processing time 45 minutes, applied to the roots first, then fully saturated the sides, crown & back. Rinsed and blow dry. There were several areas that did not take the 1N color. I then applied Pravana Express Tones Violet saturating all areas of the entire head. Put on a shower cap, heated up for 5 minutes with my blow dryer, processed 45 minutes. I love the final colors with different highlights. I normally use a 1N, then 4.52 Mahogany ending up with a black cherry or dark plum final color & highlights. Either way the Pravana product works much better than the Lumishine against my stubborn gray. Sally Beauty developer #10 is what I always use.

I got my hair dyed silver at the salon, and I used viral silver conditioning color deposit treatments. And silver fades so quick. So I've also done express toner in the violet to stop the brassiness from spreading.Another trick was to take sallys shimmer lights shampoo, coat it on dry hair, sit for 30 minutes, then wash it Into your hair and rinse. That restores silver too.So 3 photos. The first is with the shimmer lights shampoo on dry hair method, second is right from the salon, and the last was with express tones in violet. Each are probably 2-3 weeks apart. 1st is most recent, 2nd is the oldest.

Pravana has always been my go to for vivid colors, this purple is a gorgeous dark tone. Will even cover over light brown hair. Only thing I am not a fan of is the mess it makes. Application process wasn’t too messy but it will stain anything and everything it touches...it stained my tub, my sheets, and my clothing as well where my hair has touched. Would buy again because it’s such a nice color and gives even results on hair.

Get this with the zero lift developer. 2 parts zero lift developer and 1 part toner. Use it as a conditioning treat,ent for 5-10 min and you'll be happy!!! These products are made for at home coloring for beginners. You won't mess up your hair. It washes out in a week or two, but you'll have fun with the perfect tone for a night out, job interview, or just excperimenting for fun.

Work quickly with this toner and unless you intend for the hair to be light violet/lilac for up to 2 weeks, don't leave it on the full recommended time. IF you go all in, it rinses over time into the most lustrous, satiny platinum on level 10 hair.

It works really well. Don't leave it on for too long!

I love Pravana products and this is more of the same. Great color, so easy to use!
