Lovely Scent and Softens Nicely
First, let me say I prefer the "liquid" softeners over those "beads." For one, they are ridiculously costly. And two, the amount the manufacturer "suggests" you use, is crazy. You'd go through one of their very expensive bottles..very fast. And if you do a lot of laundry...well, you get the picture.Back to DOWNE'S NATURE'S BLENDS. It not only does a wonderful job of softening, they have great scents, too. I have been a Downey fan for decades.. literally. And now with their expanded choice of beautiful scents, what's not to love? You really don't need to add much to even a full large load of clothes, or an oversized King comforter, for example. I do NOT add a full cup of softener. Ever. In all my 48 years washing (I'm 62) All you really needat most, is about half (1/2) cup to your FULL load. Less to a smaller load. Of course, in my earlier years I added too much softener. It's honestly overkill and not beneficial for any of the items being washed. Nor is it helping your machine. Many reasons machines become temperamental, clogged, "gook" can form way within the structure of your machine. Yes. Your washer. This is why they have specific measuring amounts for a reason. You can help keep your machine in top condition by using a "machine probiotic." That's one of the simplest. It usually comes in a package form with liquid. Follow specific but very simple instructions (empty machine of course :) Most come with about 6 pkgs. - one time per month. My wash routine is my usual detergent, andWashing Soda - 1 small scoop or approx 1/3 cup, (to help brighten naturally) White Vinegar to help neutralize, deodorize and brighten and my Downey Softener of choice. Why do I use all these? Because they are cost effective. So far. But more importantly, they work in unison to get my wash nice, clean and fresh and bright. Smells great too! Honestly, while I do have and use Bleach "on rare occasions," almost all the time I don't need to. Plus. It may sound strange to some, but I gave up "sorting" my laundry (with a few exceptions for some delicate items of course), YEARS ago. And all my wash comes out bright, white, vibrant, great smelling too.PS - After I complete ALL my wash for the day, I give the interior front a quick once over to dry with a cotton cloth I keep for this purpose. In addition, I quickly and easily remove (slide out) the detergent dispenser (if your machine is set like that). Water collects there from the wash that was done. Over time, it can build up mold if not dried at least occasionally.I have a terrific huge Westinghouse front loader. However, the previous owner, an elderly but sick woman purchased these. Only some wash was done so when I bought the home I got this great set.Upon doing the first wash here, I smelled a funky a smell. Not in the washer. Upon closer inspection, I saw some mildewfrom what I described "can" and will happen if not maintained at least twice weekly. I do after each wash day.I sprayed a combination of Bleach and water directly into the slot where the detergent goes. I did remove the portion that could be removed. On mine, its just like opening your drawer and pulling out completely. I let the Bleach mixture sit for about 20 mins. I cleaned the other portions at my sink. The "mildewy" area was gone. I then put my machine on (empty) a short, but hot cycle. This way the water would flow through and cleanse the bleached area. I then repeated another washing to completely get rid of anything.Everything was completely sparkling and more importantly, completely disinfected.

Only fabric softener we can use
I’m sharing for others who have similar issues and are looking for options. I have very dry, creepy, super sensitive skin am allergic to every laundering product available. It has been quite the pain my entire life. I also have ocd and a sensory disorder where certain sensations and textures against my body I cannot bear. Anything with pronounced seams; anything that has those little piles that laundering can cause; anything that is scratchy and rough at all, I cannot tolerate touching me to the point where i wearSome of my pants inside out because the outside is softer than the inside and then the seams are not against my body - they get the scratchiest. I also have super sensitive skin that gets various combos of; rash; painful hives; welts everywhere the material touched; stinging sensations on my skin without hives/welts/etc; or purple rashes from extended exposure. None of it happens with this softener. I have tried them all, free and clear products as well as eczema approved products from all the brands offered in my location. I cannot use any other fabric softener than this one. I also appreciate that it is indeed plant based, water is part of the 30% non plant based because water does not come from a plant; regardless it is not petroleum based, it uses coconut oil instead; meets more than double the requirements for its certifications; ingredients are not tested on animals; it is made from renewable resources; the bottle and cap are both recyclable, and made from partially recycled post consumer material; it is septic safe; and is made at a zero waste facility…. And I can use it. Piles that build up from washing have gone away; clothing is soft, including many of the seams that have been invariable for me to have against my skin; makes everything feel and smell amazing; and it lasts a long time. Use it according to your machine’s instructions. My machine is a front loading unit used in RV’s so it’s an all in one small unit. My daughter’s requires a bit more, hers is a very large HE unit and since my unit is an all in one HE unit with the lower capacity I use about 2 Tablespoons. If your unit is not HE then you would use a capful per item’s instructions on a full load. You don’t need a capful in any other situation and the cap is small… I am sure you will get more amazing loads of laundry than expected with this product.I get more than double with my unit.Lastly the prices here are much better and the product is much easier to find than in my local stores. The ones who carry it sell out within the second day of it being stocked on the shelves-it’s that good. No mareStopping to put salt and pepper in the first rinse cycle. No more extra rinsing of laundry to make it soft enough for my skin, that means less waste and less water usage. There are so many benefits to the plant based fabric softener… too many to list. I love it and do not expect to try or use another product again. Lastly, my eczema never stopped flaring up on my elbows and arms until after using his product And it is not painful against my dry creepy skin if you have Sjogren syndrome you may want to give this a try

Great plant based fabric softener
I love using fabric softener on my clothes to eliminate extra wrinkles and keep my laundry smelling great. Since I switched to a plant based detergent my clothes have been so much cleaner but the wonderful rose scent of my detergent didn't last. Not to mention that after putting my clothes in the hamper when clean to bring them home from the laundromat they were so wrinkled. I have always liked Downy so I figured if this was plant based I would give it a try. You only need a very little amount. The one time the bottle spilled and poured too much in the washer a few of my black clothes had softener stains all over them. Nothing was ruined they just needed to be washed again. I usually only use a full cap when I am using the largest washer available. Other than that a small amount is all you need. The clothes smell wonderful out of the washer. I use dryer balls with rose oil on them in the dryer and between the oil and this softener my clothes still smell great out of the dryer which never happens. I added this to my subscribe and save. The two bottles usually lasts me about 6 months doing laundry every two weeks for two adults.
