Good quality tool for the money, you get what you pay for. Worked great on my mid sized GM trucks with quad piston calipers but may be a little big for a smaller size vehicle. The plates are solid and the ratchet seems to be a good quality as well, overall I am happy with the product.

Nothing wrong with using a C-clamp and one of the old brake pads to compress the pistons, or one of the cheap piston compressors, but this tool is fantastic for calipers with 2+ pistons, and it really helped speed up the process with my 4 piston calipers. For single piston calipers, I'm not sure how much this will really help, but the ease of setup will be a bonus and overall it's much faster than using a C-clamp or those screw type caliper spreaders. With the large pad that will reach all 4 pistons simultaneously, you just place the tool in the caliper, and start ratcheting away with a goofy grin on your face because you're done compressing all the pistons simultaneously and equally within about 15 seconds.The only annoying thing with this tool is that the plates freely swivel, so getting everything aligned prior to compressing the pistons can be a bit of a pain trying keep the pads in place. But once you start to apply pressure, it holds itself where it needs to stay.The tool feels overly engineered and the plates are thick and strong. The ratchets work well and has great satisfying tactile and audible feedback. No doubt that this is a buy it once for life type of tool.

Don’t bother with the cheap Chinese garbage versions of this tool. Spend the extra cash and get this.Made is USA, it’s super strong, smooth, and perfect for any calipers whether on big trucks or little hatchbacks. You get what you pay for and it’s WAY cheaper then the tool trucks.

It's super easy to use, pushes the calipers in real easy, not at all hard, makes the process easy. I've used c clamps other tools, pistol grip type push in tools, this one is my go to. It's easy to switch dirrections, easy to start, all you have to do when its loose fitting is clamp both ends a bit and ratchet and then it will do the rest once seated, the ratcheting mechanism makes it effortless to push in calipers, singles or duals even four pistons if you need to. It's not super cheap, like what 70 80 bucks but if you're doing brake jobs and are using c clamps and other tools all the time, this might just be worth it. Nothing more annoying than trying to grip on a caliper and possibly breaking the piston now that some are made out of phenolic aka plastic crap. Super nice tool and the finish and grip is nice too.

This is a great tool next time we do brakes or any touch up to doing the Red Brake Calipers on the 2023 RAV4 Prime!
