Buyers beware! I bought this camera with the full intent to place it outdoors, without seeing the product first, I have to warn all buyers of this product. You will have to drill a hole (1 and 1/4 inch) to allow the power/LAN cable head to pass through the hole. Unlike most outdoor cameras that need either a LAN cable for POE (Power over Ethernet) or that have coaxial cable, this camera has a somewhat large box for its power and LAN connection. Looking in the box, the instruction manual explains nothing about installation on your wall, ceiling or anywhere else for that matter, only how to install the software portion. It also does not explain that the cable, which is barely visible from the picture, is not detachable, making it the problem and your hole and patch repair afterwards more difficult.While this might sound like whining, I will assure you that it is not and I will continue to try and install it outdoors after I figure out how to do a Dutchman patch for the hole I have to make. If this sounds like something you want, then by all means purchase it and good luck.

I ordered two and one of them didn't come with instructions and the other one did not come with the ethernet cable. So if I would not have ordered to I would not have been able to attempt to hook them up. I ended up sending them back because the only way to record after a motion has been detected is manually. So if there was a thief detected in the middle of the night the small beep my tablet gives off what have to wake me up and then I would have to open up the app and hopefully hit record before the person was gone

Too bad it requires electric cord.

A bit hard to install must install a new type of software off the internet .Once installed, worked great.

The camera picture is very clear. We have this camera pointed out the window to our front door and driveway.

Not working with Wi-Fi

Fantastic camera. works much better than others I have tried. Signal received into Ca. Very impressive.

Does not record on motion. Must press button in app, who is going to be watching their camera all the time? This is a not a security camera. The app updutes removed all reasonable options (motion trigger, or on/off). Skylink, after support request, said the have an app seperate to set some camera options. Still useless, crashes and isn't listed on Android app store. To top it off, Skylink said you might be able to add recording feature by inserting an SD card. Sure. No problem. But it's inside the cameras watertight and assembled housing that requires you to remove the antenna and it's permanent mount, remove the lens assembly and of course the power cable assembly. Sure did that. Oh ya... If you do it, don't forget you'll void all your warranty. So pretty much useless until a major app upgrade and somehow to record unattended. Look to ubiquity, grandsteam or even an off the shelf cheapie... It will serve you way better.

The camera we received is not exactly the same model as the one advertised on the website. The procedure to install the SD card is not found in the instruction manual, it is found on the Skylink website, but only for the other model. It is doable yourself if you are handy but hard to do otherwise, since the whole camera needs to be taken apart to install the SD card. The image quality is very good and is easy to set up, like the other Skylink products.

This is supposed to be a wire free wifi camera. It has a 6’ cable that must be plugged in! This camera is supposed to be for outdoor use how can I trust that some won’t just unplug my cameras. They also require a sd card for motion detection recording. No option of using wireless recording. Will be returning as I expected to be use my cameras lore than 6’ from a power source.Edit- have been waiting for over a month and a half for k one to ship my solar powered alarm and they will not return my emails or give me a refund highly disappointed after contacting amazon support nothing has been resolved.

Decided not to use it as installation option is not ideal, was hoping it came with 120V wiring option so I could tap it into out exterior light power source, not keen on drilling through the house to try and find a power source inside. There are better options for cameras then this, but love the rest of Skylinks security system.
