Seiko 5 Mens Automatic Black Dial Watch SRPE57K1

I've worn this watch for pretty much a month now since buying it, which is quite something considering I have 25 other watches to choose from. Ive taken it off the stainless steel bracelet for no other reason than I like a leather strap. The bracelet is "acceptable" for an affordable Seiko (it has a pressed clasp). It is a great watch, it reminds me a lot of the Tudor BB41.It's comfortable and wears flat, it's finished to a good standard, it has a decent water resistance(100m), without a screw down crown and it's a great daily wear.This particular piece is running at +1 sec per day on my wrist, on average. After letting it completely wind down a couple of times, it pretty much runs to COSC standards. If it was Swiss we'd be talking big money. I love it. Should you buy it? Definitely.

My normal watch is a Rolex Datajust, but, since receiving this I have not gone back. Once I had removed 2 links it fitted perfectly and with the winder down at 5 o’clock it is so comfortable to wear and of course the winder is now protected from accidentally being pulled out or turned, a major improvement and something that happened a lot on my other Seiko watch when putting it in and out of my golf bag. The biggest plus for this Seiko is the very readable dial and day date display, something that I particularly value, just a quick glance shows all. Aesthetically this is a very handsome, dare I say Manly watch which looks superb and wears so very lightly on the wrist. The link strap is well made and compliments the watch body, so in summary this has to be Seikos best effort to date and it is a pleasure to wear.

Nice watch to gift someone. They loved it to bits. Good quality built. Classy looking Automatic Japan Movement without the cost of a swiss.

Bang-for-bucks this watch is really hard to beat. It looks lovely, and the one I got seems to average an accuracy of around 1-2 seconds a day (or so) - but I must emphasise that this may be luck-of-the-draw. However, another reviewer here found similar accuracy and I have another watch with a low-end mechanical movement that also has been averaging around 1 sec accuracy per day for two years (but again this may be luck). I had been looking at very much more expensive watches but now cannot see what they have that this doesn't: looks (no), much better accuracy for a mechanical watch (no). A quick tip, I found that if you store the watch overnight with the crown facing down (i.e. with the watch on its side) then it seems to lose no time through the night. Thoroughly recommended.

Another entry level seiko, another gap between the quality of the watch and that of the bracelet. In terms of the watch - everything you've heard about these 'dress kx' models is true imo. This one is particularly beautiful, especially if you like the black and gold combination. In terms of the bracelet - its probably the worst braclet I've encountered on a seiko yet, and I'm not that bothered about pressed clasps. This one has very obvious hollow end links, is very obviously folded and feels light, rattley and cheap.

Unless you’re a watch snob you don’t need to spend any more. Lovely looking keeps excellent time don’t have to wrap it in cotton wool.

Love this watch. Looks similar to a black bay but way cheaper. Good quality
