works great with a one cent fix!
Update: 09/10/2023(originally purchased in 2013): still use this thing to this day, ive replaced a tip or two, but thats to be expected. Butane cartridges still hold butane and never leak. Always fires right up on the first or second click of the piezo ignition. Quality tool!Original review: Awesome soldering iron, heats up fast and no issues with it staying lit. That being said, there is one issue i had: the butane cartridge would not go in deep enough to provide butane to the unit, the solution cost me $.01....put a penny in the bottom black screw on cap and it pushes the cartridge up that extra 1/16of an inch it needs to properly seal. Ive owned this unit for a year and have soldered dozens of electrical connections and ive never been let down yet. Best butane iron for the money, hands down!

Sad
it came not consistently dispensing fuel and after using it only half a dozen times of using it in 4 months, it doesnt even get hot enough to solder capacitors

Good portable solder iron for field work; be careful from whom you purchase it though
This soldering iron is very effective for field work (I used it as an electronics technician working for an oil field services company); it heats up quickly, it's compact, and it contains an attachment for heating/torch work. However, the capacity of the fuel tubes is limited and gets consumed rather quickly.Furthermore, one of my fuel tubes was defective on arrival; it leaked and I was unable to use it. I reached out to the vendor and asked for a replacement. He basically told me there was no way the tube was defective on arrival and that either I was lying or broke it. Needless to say, I will never purchase anything else from that vendor.

Quality and has all the stuff for general use
I have owned this for a year now and haven't used it as nearly as much as I thought I was going to, but when I have, it has performed well and allowed me to accomplish the various little tasks I've used it on. I've used it to heat-shrink tubing on electrical connections, mostly on my cars and Iv'e repaired three or four solder connections on different appliances. It's fired right up each time and doesn't take long to get to operating temp. I really, really like not having to deal with a cord constantly pulling against any movement I make with it. My last solder gun was corded electric and I can't imagine ever using one of those again.

Portable Soldering Iron works great!
I purchased this butane soldering iron/torch to solder heavy coax cable for two-way radio antenna installations where electric power isn't available. In the short time that I've used it, this is one tool that I don't want to leave the shop without! It's well built and has good balance. It has plenty of heat to solder connectors onto heavy coax (14ga center conductor) cable. This is one purchase that you won't be disappointed with!

Works well when it works
I ordered and received this kit in Feb, 2010. The first one didn't work, called Fred at Solder Pro and returned it directly to his company, they promptly sent me another one. The second one worked six times, just enough to get a project done that needed doing, which I was very satisfied with, then quit. Talked to Sandy this time at Solder Pro and sent the Solder Pro 150 in at their expense, it worked when it got there, they returned it to me and I've started it just once, since, to make sure it worked. Fred and Sandy at Solder Pro are very good to work with and I hope this unit keeps working.

solderpro 150 great item so far
I have read a lot of reviews on this item, but not many that were actually helpful. The iron has an opening in the back to see the butane level but the label on the fuel tanks obstructs the view.I will end up removing the stickers for a clear view.the iron itself is approximately 12" long and about an inch thick. The soldering tips heat up extremely fast and solder and clean up well. The flameless tip is ACTUALLY flameless.I have used the item for a little under an hour accumulated time and I still have a half of a tank. The size of the flame in torch mode can range from a little less than a half an inch to about an inch and a half to two inches. The iron usually lights on the first or second light when cold.Cooldown time is approximately 5-10 min.All in all, this is a great item and an excellent gift for someone who solders small circuit bords.(MY OPINION) The ONLY thing that I do not like is that when the iron doesn't light the first time, you must take the switch all the way down, hold safety again, then relight. NOT A BIG DEAL. But I can see this getting irritating if the iron has trouble lighting

Top Quality; excellent design, works as designed
I've owned a Weller Butane soldering iron that worked fine for a period of time, but got to the point it would not produce enough heat to solder.By comparison, the SolderPro is a much more professional quality design. It fires up immediately and in only seconds is hot enough to solder.
