Maxima Fishing Line Guide Spools, Crystal Ivory

Have respooled one reel so far with 2 more to go. Use the 8lb. as my main line for reels I mount on my fly rods. I then use 5-6lb. for leaders again usually Maxima. They are my steelhead outfits. Fly rods are more sensitive in my opinion.

This line is very strong and if snagged it only breaks at the knot.

Maxima Crystal Ivory fishing line is a durable line with good knot strength. It does have memory and it is rather stiff. But I use this line for top shots on top of braid. I feel the tinted color makes it harder for inshore species to detect near sandy or muddy bottoms. This is probably not the best line for filling up spinning reels as it may not cast as far as some other brands. But when used as a top shot it seems to perform well. This line also makes affordable leaders with good abrasion resistance. My 5 star rating is based on my application and not on an application where I believe it would fall short.

Did not like amount of line twist

Have used Maxima Leader Material for decades fly fishing but had never seen this color till recently. I use the Ivory for leader/bottom rig material surf fishing. Blends in well to the sand and continues Maximas tradition of Making great leader material.

The brand name says it all. I actually bought this as a Christmas gift for best and his wife to go on there reels I got them.

What I always use for Chinook salmon. Has never failed.

Not sure if this is forged never saw maxima line without line diameter displayed..
