Unit does not work I reinstalled my old unit and now will try to deal with customer support.
The unit is very nicely designed but the device is faulty.

Stopped Working
I purchased this unit based on the recommendation of a friend who is very happy with it. My experience was different.<edit> My buddy has since replaced his as well. It didn't fail but the new thermostat smell went away. It's pretty, but not feature rich.</edit>The Good:You get a 7 day programmable unit with 15 min time intervals. That's pretty flexible for people that have non-standard work weeks. It's also at a very reasonable price. You can't beat under 50 bucks for these features. Installation was a breeze (I've installed a few of these before, this was the easiest) and it works with most heating systems. While it worked it was very straight forward to use. I feel like anyone could learn to program it very quickly and start saving money right away. It also has a much wider temp range and more accurate thermometer then the old unit I replaced. The Strange:You only get 3 temp settings and one can't be used in the program (vacation). So you basically just get a warm and cool setting + vacation. This is odd considering how much fine control you get with times. I would think that you could set 5 temps. Morning, at work, evening, sleep + vacation would make sense to me. However it says this right there on the product page and it didn't bother me. I just though it was strange to have so much control in one direction and almost none in the other. If you purchase the phone controller add on it drives the price to over 100 dollars and you can get a more fully featured WiFi unit for less then that. The unit mounts on the wall vertically while most have a horizontal orientation so be prepared to patch and paint over at least one hole from your old units mounting point. The Bad:This unit stopped working for me after about 2 weeks. As of this moment it has stopped responding to key presses and stopped following the program. I got home from work and it's stuck on the cold setting. Last night it got stuck on the hot setting. Because it won't respond to key presses I can't even manually set the temps or use the vacation setting at all. At least it's kind of controlling the furnace and fans so the pipes in my house won't freeze, even if my hands will.I can't recommend this thermostat based on my experiences.

Good looking, but not enough ease of use
I am a newbie to thermostat replacement, but I asked around and learned that this seemed like a simple home project that I could handle (woman with limited repair background). I ordered this model for its look - more sophisticated than the typical rectangular box. I was able to do the install with no problem and I like the ability to program a different set of instructions for each day of the week (although this is time consuming to do). The unit works perfectly well. However, now that I am more knowledgeable, I want more. Issues:1. The screen is not backlit and based on its location, I have trouble reading it at times.2. There is no simple on/off switch - you can place the thermostat on the travel setting at a low temperature (in the winter, not sure if I have to reset for summer), but you cannot just turn the heater/air conditioner off. I like the certainty of simply flicking an on/off switch when I need to temporarily stop the furnace / AC.3. Setting the day (sun symbol) and night (moon) temperatures is not intuitive and I find the instruction sticker too small to read without magnification. This is annoying. At some point I will probably memorize the process but until then, I have to run upstairs for reading glasses to read the tiny type. This is further aggravated by the lack of backlighting. All in all, it has a look that I like and works fine, but I think I like my old boring model better.

Great
For the price, I did not expect this thing to be so good. The so called "intelligent" mode is awesome, predicts where the temperature is heading and reacts in anticipation. Buying a couple more.UPDATEDOk, this is my 8-month review. Unit behaved great during the whole summer. The thing seems to be pretty intelligent. It keeps the temp locked on what I set it (73). Starts the AC even before the temp goes over 73 so that it never goes beyond that. Manual says something about it "learning" the temp patters where it is installed. After seeing how it works, I believe it.***ON the other hand*** Since we started having very cold nights about once a week it behaves oddly. Looks like it turns the heating on at night and then during the day it "forgets" to turn on the A/C so temp keeps rising and rising... When it happens it is very stubborn and only comes to its senses after a while of cursing at it. Simply ignores what I enter. I wonder if my unit is faulty or what. It started to happen when cold nights and hot days started (going from heat -> AC)Other days it does switch between heat and AC just fine. A bit odd. I think I'd still buy another one...

Just what I needed
The one I’ve been using for sixteen years failed. The tricky part was that the part number had changed. I called Honeywell and they verified the new part number. I ordered this one and received it in about a week. I was able to use the existing base plate and wiring without any modifications. I just had to change the mini switches to conform to my system (using the old thermostat) which was easy. I already knew how to program it. I was happy to find it on Amazon and it’s working well.

Simple, yet complex
Standard thermostat will handle most heating & cooling needs. Programming this unit can be a pain since there are four settings per day for every day of the week. Unlike some other units which divide weekday and weekend programs. One other issue is there are only two temperature settings that can be used, one warmer and one cooler. The third setting is for vacation. So, in summary, you can change the temperature four times a day, but you can only choose between two different temperatures. On the other hand this unit (which is white, by the way) is stylish and once you've gotten it programmed it's easy to select warm or cool by pushing only a single button. It also allows you to set an override hold temperature. In summary, I like the unit and I'm hoping to holds up well.

Don't waste your money
One star is for the contemporary design, but don't be fooled by the good looks. I purchased this Honeywell thermostat in mid-February 2021 to replace an old Aube thermostat that lasted for almost 30 years. Over the past several months, I've had nothing but problems (screen error and sometimes won't shut off after reaching the set temperature) with this Honeywell piece of junk, and then it stopped working after less than a year. I tried to call Honeywell Customer Care several times to make a warranty claim, but nobody answers the phone unless you want to stay on hold for hours and then they hang up on you. I do not recommend this product.

J'attend l'hiver.

It is a little tricky to set up.
I like this item because I can use a telephone controller with it to set the thermostat when away. Had my old one for 15 years, but it was starting to act up, so got a new one. Very satisfied.
