The New 52's BATMAN! But this time... it's poseable!
Like Marvel, DC has two major but distinct types of action figures. Over at Marvel, you have MARVEL LEGENDS (by Hasbro), which does heavily articulated and somewhat cheap-looking sculpts, and you have Marvel Select, which are more "direct market" figures that are more expensive and more durable but far less posable figures. DC has Mattel, which puts out their DC UNIVERSE CLASSICS which are the analogues to MARVEL LEGENDS. They also have DC Direct, the analogue for Marvel Select. Typically, DC Direct figures are far less fun and much more rigid with very little in the way of articulation and movement, but are far more durable and better sculpted and painted. They're more statues than action figures.Since the redesign of so many characters that came with DC's New 52 initiative, we've gotten JUSTICE LEAGUE figures from DC Direct that have been from the Jim Lee redesigns of their costumes, which look much more "armored" than their previous, more organic designs. And those figures generally go for about $20-$30. Then you have the DC UNIVERSE CLASSIC figures, which are more "blue chip" collectibles in the sense that they usually hit the market at retail, and within a few weeks start to go up by about 50-60% and then start going back down after about two months. This figure is the redesign of Batman with the New 52 suit, and it's pretty flawless. The sculpt is really nice, the articulation is well-done, but as with most of these figures, there is a lack of rigidity to some of the moving parts, particularly the head. This is very typical of the Mattel and Hasbro work. It's a "get-what-you-pay-for" type of figure. If you want something sturdier (but less fun), get the DC Direct figure. If you want something you can really play with but feel like it could break without too much effort, get the Mattel figure. For the price, this is a really good figure with a nice sculpt and some good articulation.

Mine come opened?
First off, I was really surprised when my batman come opened. The whole package was shipped, but it was ripped open.... Very weird.Other than that, I like the toy. He's durable. His articulation is nice. He is a darker grey than he I thought he was, but the paint job looks great nonetheless. His gloves are stuck in one place, so thats a little awkward in some poses.I still say he deserves a 4/5. He really only loses a point for being opened before I got him. I intended to open him up and decorate my desk with him, so its not a big deal. I just wish I had gotten the satisfaction of actually opening the guy up.

New 52 Batman is sweet
This is a great figure that has now proven hard to find in this All Star style packaging with the flat matte gray costume. The most recent armor is shiny. I am inclined to dock a star because you are now paying more for a figure with no accessory like a stand, batarang, or BAF part, but I just like this figure too much on its own. Has great articulation, and a very good design. The new 52 designs are very polarizing, but I thought it was pulled off very well in this figure. Batman having some armor/tech details makes sense to me and is welcome this time.

New 52
I have been collecting action figures for 20+ years. As for DC figures Batman is my all time fav. I was happy to get a revamped version of his costume based on the New 52 design. I really love the color scheme they used because I think it is a more accurate comic depiction of the Batman. The paint is clean and the lines are smooth. His size is excellent as opposed to the Movie masters Batman, which is an inch smaller.Good work Mattel. There are a few dislikes for me though, in terms of pose-ability, this or any other 6 inch DC lags behind some of the more articulated figures such as Marvel legends and Revoltech lines, but this has always been the case so I didn't expect much of a change here. Overall this is a great figure with a great design and is a must for any Batman fan and or figure collector in general

New 52 Mattel Batman
I was really looking forward to this figure and it doesn't disappoint. Of all the costume changes that the DC characters are going through right now, this one makes the most sense. Batman has lost his outside undies and has received a techy looking suit that resembles amour of some sort. He is super poseable and a great sculpt all around. If you are a Batman fan or a superhero fan, you'll want this version of the caped crusader.

Meh
I agree with many of the reviews listed here. I ordered this figure from Amazon, and shipping was of course very fast with Prime. The figure itself looks very nice, but mine has a paint issue on the face (the black paint from the cowl has seeped onto the chin which is definitely detracting if you look at the figure closely enough). And like some of the other reviews I find that the head on the figure is very loose. It kind of stays in place, but for the most part it is indeed a bobble-head.Overall, I'd say the figure isn't ruined, it just leaves a lot of room for improvement. The rest of its features are standard with any of the other figures from this line. There's no accessories and he's not exactly spot on for a New 52 look, but it's still a great looking Batman anyway.

Amazing Batman!
This Batman is amazing! The paint application is very clean, and the color selection for this New 52 Batman is really awesome! I really like the combination of black and dark steel gray on this Batman's costume. The joints of this figure are tight and very posable. I am really happy with purchasing this amazing Batman!

Nice to have this in your collection.
The sculpt and paint on this batman is good. Decent. i'll admit that the articulation is not so good on dc figs but the outlook of the fig is impressive. One of the Figs ok to be MIB to admire.
