Cooks, smells, and tastes like ghee!
I am simply stunned by how close this is to the dairy version! It's aroma is very similar to dairy ghee. Cooking with it fries and browns the dish just like you would expect, with an equal smoke point and about the same 1 to 1 substitution. If you have it simply atop of bread or roti, you might taste something a little less rich but the aroma is still very captivating and close. Like with all vegan substitutes, do not go in expecting 100% identical everything -- if you can do that, you will come out enjoying it so much! I am seriously impressed.I have been eating ghee all my life, since I was a kid. After going vegan, I had never imagined there would be a vegan ghee out there. I am amazed and very thankful because now I get to offer another incentive to the people I know to try the cleaner, more ethical, and less environmentally hurtful version of ghee.

When you love ghee but went plant based...
This is a great substitute for ghee when you've gone plant based. I used ghee regularly before eliminating animal products and figured I'd just have to deal with the loss. But I really like this product, and it fills that void nicely for me.Does it taste like ghee? No, it's not dairy and will not taste exactly the same. Is it tasty? Absolutely! The addition of the avocado oil to coconut oil keeps it soft and spreadable, and it adds another layer of richness that mimics ghee.If you're plant based and looking for a good ghee subsitute--or you're just looking for a cruelty free alternative--I recommend this product.

Perfect substitute for any recipe which calls for ghee
I've been vegan for a little over two years now, and I come from a traditional Indian family where ghee is used a lot in cooking and religious purposes, etc. I was so happy to find a vegan ghee alternative to make sweets like besan ladoos and halwa and let me tell you that this is the perfect substitute! We made atta halwa the other day using this and it turned out to be soo good! I highly recommend this product! I just wish it was less expensive and that they sold a bigger size bottle (at least 64 oz) because it gets used up pretty quickly in my family for various purposes.

Great vegan ghee
OK, I have a confession to make. I have had this jar of vegan ghee for about four months now and have never opened it. I got it to replace bovine ghee (cows ghee) and to make some baklava, but never got around to it. This vegan ghee keeps toward infinity, so I am not worried about it. It looks great, well packaged and shipped in a timely manner.

Can’t get past the flavor.
My being a gluten free, pescatarian, and low fodmap means I have tasted my fair share of off flavors and unpleasant aftertastes in foods specifically for use diet needs. This flavor is awful. With an undesirable aftertaste. I’m not picky but I’m a discerning chef and this recipe needs to be reevaluated for flavor. It’s comparable to plastics synthetic in taste. I’d rather use olive oil than this.

A great butter substitute for those with a milk allergy
What is not to like? It's coconut, so it's going to be hard, but I don't mind that. I just scrape it out with a spoon, and use the spoon to place in something hot and eat with the same spoon.

What happened to this flavor? It’s all mint!
I’ve bought their butter flavor coconut oil spread stuff and assumed this would be very similar. Only seemed like one additional ingredient with the avocado oil. But as soon as I opened it I could smell so much mint. And when I used it everything was tasting just like mint. That’s not at all what I wanted. I needed something like butter. I don’t know what you could use a mint spread like this for but it’s not for what I needed. It was very expensive for false advertisement. Only thing I could think is either the one I received was not made properly or it separated and all the mint flavor got concentrated in one area and then it rehardened. It came solid so I really don’t know but it’s inedible and a waste of money.

Nope!
At 44 years old, I just had to cut dairy and eggs out of my diet. That is too say, I have been eating real dairy all my life. Never having needed vegan dairy subs before, I didn't have any idea what would be good. I tried this product because the ingredients are pretty straightforward and the reviews are good. All I can figure is that most of the people who say it tastes like the real thing haven't had the real thing in a long time, if ever. This tastes like coconut oil and turmeric. (Shocking, given the ingredients!) It's a good candidate for Indian food in that regard, but if you're looking for butter flavor without the dairy, I recommend Miyokos butter. It's available in most grocery stores in my area, the ingredients are simple, and the flavor is almost dead on. The lightly salted one is a bit less salty than salted butter, but that's easy to fix!
