The Mighty Thor 3

A fun TPB that takes place after Ragnarok and follows through with the storylines from Loki's schemes. There's a few filler issues with Beta Ray Bill on Earth but he's a bad ass so it's still a fun story. We eventually get to the Hel arc where Thor brings a legion of asgaurdians into Hel to take back mortal souls stolen by Hela during Ragnarok (see vol 2). There were definitely some ideas taken from this run of issues into the movie Thor Ragnarok and you'll know what I mean when you read it.We also get Balder the Brave 1-4 which is a fun side story. The TPB finishes up with an issue or Thor that takes place after Secret Wars II. If you want the full story as to how this issue ties into SWII you may want to check those issues out but probably not too important for the lead in to Simonson's Thor vol 4.

Walt Simonson's run on The Mighty Thor is one of the greatest runs in the book's history. If you're a long time Thor fan or have only come to know Thor through the recent movies, this collection is recommended for you as a lot of the movie comes from things in this run. All 5 volumes are great reads and the new coloring only adds to the beauty of Simonson's art and storytelling. Don't miss it! Highly recommended reading!

Walter Simonson's Thor stories make a great fantasy and are probably one of the best in the history of Thor. Highly recommend the series.

This entire volume series is worth their weight in Gold. This is some of the best Thor material out there, even for folks who maybe didn't ever really jive with the old school comic schtick.
