I was discouraged when I 1st received the mat because my hands & feet were sliding all over the place. I emailed the Square36 folk and they responded almost immediately with steps to take to break in Mat to get rid of the slipperiness. I followed their instructions and it worked! No more slipperiness! Yay! If I had known to do that at the beginning I would give it 5 stars.The instructions was this:In order to speed up the break in process we have found that wiping the mat with a nylon brush or soft cloth and water mixed with a couple drops of mild dish soap (without bleach), then rinse with clear water to ensure there is no soap residue on the mat. Please allow the mat to hang dry or wipe dry with a towel. Use the mat once it is completely dry on both sides.I’m sorry that it will take some time for traction to develop on the mat, but I promise you that traction will definitely increase over time, from my own personal experience and also from our customers experiences.

I LOVE this mat. After a tough few years healthwise, I was finally ready to get back to exercising regularly but knew my old method of going to the Y would not work. (Too many kids to get out the door!) Since we have all hard flooring (tile and wood), I knew a mat was necessary but those dinky yoga mats annoy me. Whenever you stretch or go to do an exercise, some part of you ends up on the hard, cold floor or requires you to adjust yourself just so to fit on the mat. This mat eliminates all of that and makes my home workouts easy to accomplish. It’s just big enough to give you full coverage for exercising but still compact enough I can use it in a number of spots in our home. While the mat is a bit slick at first, I found it was well broken in after about 3 weeks and that really isn’t a problem, though another reviewer said the company gave them tips on how to get it sticky even faster. There may have been a slight smell the first month but I am super sensitive to smells and this may really didn’t bother me at all. Absolutely an awesome purchase that I use all the time!

Not its intended use, but this yoga mat keeps our two large dogs from slipping and sliding around in the cargo area of our CR-V. Dimension-wise, its length is generous enough to even cover the folded back seats and wide enough to go up the wheel wells a few inches on either side. The padding is dense, yet soft, keeping my older, arthritic dog comfortable.It lasted a year in great condition before my 90 pound-er's dinosaur claws started to rip out little squares in the mat. While still in good condition almost two years later, we may look into the  Square36 Large Exercise Mat 78" Long x 48" Wide (6.5'x4') x 7mm Thick. Includes A Storage Bag and Storage Straps. Perfect For Cardio, Plyometric, MMA, Aerobic Workouts  as a future option, as it seems more durable.

This may is perfect for people with disabilities, knee hip or any other past injuries! I have several Autoimmune Diseases and have bad osteoarthritis in most of my joints, but with this mat I can stretch without my bones going through to the floor!

I love this mat! It is perfect for my at home practice. So often when I am doing yoga and it Pilates my partner or children will want to join and this leaves room for them to do so. It's very comfortable and broke in easily, I love being able to have a large zen spot where I can freely move about my poses without worrying about venturing off mat or slipping.

This Large Yoga mat is AWESOME!!! It is Luxuriously thick really comfortable, it unrolled to flat with no curling on the edges!!I have hardwood floors This Fabulous mat makes floor exercise very comfortable!!Also it came with its own storage bag and straps to secure it. It is well worth the cost!!I highly recommend this Great large yoga mat!!

My dog (90 lb golden retriever) is destructive, he likes to try an dig in the house on carpet, on yoga mats, whatever he can. My Manduka yoga mat is impervious to this behavior but this Square 36 mat was destroyed in the first night it was in my house, he scratched a big hole in it and ate it and it all came out the other end undigested.

This mat is so big, thick and nice that my friend borrowed it and won’t give it back! 😳 Who can Yoga in those a Little Strip Mats anyways????!? They are ridiculous! Also, there’s enough room for the kids who yoga with you 😝
