I used the product for the orbital sander that it was designed for. It worked.

Not as described
I purchased this replacement sanding pad base because the picture has a metal backing plate and the description says it has a metal backing plate. As you can see in the picture, the one I received has a plastic backing plate. I'm not optimistic that it will hold up to the stress it will go through during use, but time will tell.
