Keratin Complex Express Blowout Smoothing Treatment, 4 Ounce

I’ve used this brand for several years and love it!

In the middle of a pandemic, my hair was so knotty, frizzy etc. I used to get keratin treatments then my stylist switched over to magic sleek - which is good but not great. My hair in its true form is Curley frizzy with no rhyme or reason to it, I could never let my hair just air dry (forget it! Frizz bomb)..I am not a stylist and I did this treatment on myself. I won’t say I’m not experienced, I do a lot Of things on my own when it comes to hair care, but this was my first keratin. Definitely follow the directions word for word...the only part of the directions I felt was not clear is the part where It tells you to finger dry your hair on a cool setting until it’s 80% dry - then to use a vented brush to blow out the remaining - but it never tells you to switch to a hotter setting when you start to use the brush - which may be a no brainer for some - but when you’re following directions, I kept questioning it...anyway I did switch to a hotter setting and it came out freakin amazing (it’s impossible to blow my hair out on a cool setting). I used one ounce and used it SPARINGLY...so sparingly that it’s annoying. The hardest part for me was getting a comb through my straw like freshly shampooed unconditioned hair at the start of the process- but when you start adding the product, it gets easier. Anyway, 5 stars!! I’ll probably never get this done at a salon again. I could probably get 4 applications out of this small bottle - and do that math! PS...I wore an n95 mask when I did this and had my bathroom window open...honestly, the smell wasn’t bad...my eyes burned a little but I experienced way worse at a salon. Blowing my hair out on medium setting, the smoke was almost non existent.

shipping was earlier than expected. Ive never done a keratin treatment. I did this on my own, at home. A well ventilated area is highly recommended as the fumes from the treatment mixed with the hair dryer and flat iron will cause eyes and nose to burn. I shampooed my hair three times with a clarifying agent. I sectioned my hair as instructed with gloves as instructed. I naturally have dry frizzy hair. When blow drying on cool setting, it took a long time to dry 100%. Maybe I saturated my hair with keratin as the box said not to. After blow drying, I used the flat iron on 410 D. On the parts of my hair that was 100% dried, the iron turned the keratin into crispy brown flakes (I've included pic). I literally had to wipe down my flat iron after each and every glide of hairs. Parts that were a bit wet would sizzle and cause the treatment to smear on the plates of my flat iron so I had to scratch off the dried up keratin on the iron plates. Overall, the whole process took about 3-4 hrs from shampooing to finishing the flat ironing portion. I wrapped my hair with a silk wrap while sleeping. My hair is still flat as paper as if I just finished ironing right now. Im going to wash my hair tomorrow and see how it looks after washing. Hope it stays straight or at least somewhat straight or manageable compared to my crazy fro!

Great for straightening

I have had this same treatment in salons for years, so I understand the process. The main worry I had was that I might receive a fake or sub-par product. The product I received is identical to what the stylist uses on my hair at the salon. I don’t see an expiration date as others have noted, just a small, unopened (sealed) bottle.I think I overestimated my own abilities because I had a bit of a rough go with the application process. Several times I had to hold my breath or lean out the window for fresh air, but I think in the future I can avoid that by using more clips to keep hair out of my face. The offgas is pretty strong, so be aware of this. The other difficulty came with blow drying, that was harder than expected with this product in my hair. In the end I managed to get through the process feeling like I’d succeeded.I usually wait 24-36 hours to wash my hair after a treatment and I did the same this time. It came out just as good as it does at the salon. I on,y did it myself this time because of Covid-19 closing the salon, but I think the savings might have me doing this on my own going forward. I think I will be able to improve the application process going forward.

I just tried this product yesterday, hence why I’m only giving It four stars. I have thick curly dry caucasian hair. I only used in my frizzy bangs & extra curly nape as a test. The smell did not bother me, it only slightly irritated eyes. I followed directions exactly except I only left in my hair for six hours before washing out because I was worried if would straighten or take out too much curl. My intent is only to soften & de-frizz curl. So far one day in it seems it did just that, my usually frizzy bangs are soft & wavy & still match the rest of my hair. I will definitely be doing this again in future & not afraid to keep in hair longer. And it is definitely a great deal compared to salon keratin treatments

This product works! I have had the traditional Keratin Complex treatment done at a salon several times. I’ve watched how the product needs to be applied and I know the results I want to achieve. I have never had the Express Blow out done at a salon. However, I watched a video and the application process is similar. My hair is short and it took me about 2 hours. I left it on my hair for close to 16 hours because I did it towards the end of the day and went to bed. I let my hair air dry after washing. I have very curly and frizzy hair. My hair dried with a little bit of a wave but 90% of frizz was gone. I then ran a flat iron over my hair. It straightened very easily. I went out in very humid weather for 2 days. It was lightly raining one day. My hair stayed straight and did not frizz at all. It has only been a week. I am not sure how long the express with last. They say 6-8 weeks. The Keratin Complex use to last me about 4 months. I am pleased with the results and would use this again.

This product works, however the process is more time consuming then I thought. For reference, I have wavy and curly hair naturally.The application has to be as meticulous as regular Brazilian keratin. Also, I find that I still have to do several passes with the flat iron just like regular Brazilian keratin.I applied it twice so far and the second time during 72h I did touch ups with my flat iron and did not tie my hair and the result was much better that way.This product seem to be a better investment for people with slightly/loose wavy or curly hair, who want straight hair temporarily.As for truly curlies and wavies, it is great as a temporary humidity repellent or to have more mangeable hair for a special occasion (vacation,wedding etc.). However, if you are on a tight budget and are hesitating between this and a regular Brazilian keratin blowout, I would say go for the real thing.

Bought for my partner, she's a hair stylist and she declared it's been the lowest quality creatine she's ever tried.

yet to use, but disappointed it didn't advise to buy extra products with it prior to purchase, I think it should really be in a bundle if these other things are necessary.
