Retainers are no brainiers!

Ok, although it looks like it would work ok, I was very disappointed that after the 2 week wait, my '2-PACK' only contained one item. Could someone please explain what the 2-pack is referring to, because I can't see it?? What am I supposed to do with just one of these?
