Wonderful for Fighting Plugged Ducts
I struggled through the early days of nursing with painful, plugged ducts from overproduction. Even with regular pumping/nursing, it easily led to mastitis - sometimes as frequent as bi-weekly. Initially, I attempted to treat it with homemade hot compresses, but the hot water soaked rags left me stuck in one place, constantly needed reheating, were quite messy, and not exactly discrete when you have company. This meant I wasn't doing them as often as I should have.. worsening the problem. The booby tubes (LOL the name..) allowed me to have all the heat with none of the water/mess. Unlike many other compresses, they are also free of plastic and toxic inserts, which is important to me. Booby tubes are filled with flax seeds, which have natural oils that trap heat when warmed. The "tubes" also allow you to shape the compress as needed, and it fits well within a bra. With a slightly flowy shirt, I've found you can easily use these out and about or with company in the house -- which means you can stay on your regular schedule to fight plugged ducts when they strike. Two small downsides...1- When heated, they can sometimes form hot spots. I found just giving them a good shake or quick massage after taking them out of the microwave solved the issue.2 - These are not washable (again, because they are filled with flax seeds; which is a good thing!), so just be careful you are leaking any milky while using them : ) I found the best "plugged duct fighting routine" was to take a hot shower, nurse/pump, and then use the hot compress between feeds after emptying.

Genius for mamas and beyond
Fantastic product to quickly stimulate breast ducts and get milk flowing. Also its for all size boobies bc of the tube like shape that form fits to any size or shape.I had lots of pain in the first weeks of breastfeeding and used cold packs to soothe my nipples. This product worked wonders to get milk flowing quickly. I know they recommend warm towels but i sure didnt want my boobies wet underneath my bra and shirt! The boobie tubes heat in microwave in just 30-45secs and done. While putting pump parts together or changing baby's diaper, this does the trick and u just put it away in drawer till next use. I figured i can still use this later for other purposes such as to soothe ear aches or instead of a heating pad, so im keeping it in the closet close by. Be careful not to overheat it, of course, it was never an issue for me as i followed common sense and tested on my hand first. Also never try heating up salt in a handkerchief to substitute( our mothers used such for ear aches and stuff) in the microwave like i did years ago - it caught on fire - thats why i love this simple perfect tube.

Helps with let down
Bra size: 40E/40FI had a plugged duct and have a recurring bleb on my left side. I'm a working mom and pump twice a day at work. I warm them up in the microwave for about 40 seconds and put them in my bra a few minutes prior to pumping. It helps make pumping more efficient. I let down and drain faster. For blebs, it works good too. I heat it up and put it in my bra making sure my nipple is directly on the booby tube. It feels better and helps clear the bleb when I pump DIRECTLY after applying the heat compress.Pros: Comfortable on the skin, moist heat, compact, natural, fits in bra nicely.Cons: Doesn't stay hot for very long. If it's placed in your bra directly from the microwave, it'll last a good 5 minutes. It will not sit on your boob while pumping because of the fabric cover. It slides off.I'm a double pumper. I've got my hands full holding the bottles and massaging my breasts while I pump. I don't use the pumping bra because it doesn't allow me access to massage to help drain completely.Prior to this, I was using orthomed cold/hot gel pack. The heat lasts longer and because of its plastic packaging, I can rest it on my boob while I pump to maintain the heat compress. Both work great, but the booby tubes are much more discreet and comfortable on the skin.

Great product. Wish I had this when my other ...
Great product. Wish I had this when my other 2 children were born. With my second, I ended up having mastitis 2 weeks apart from each other on the same side. After the second time, I gave up nursing and went to bottles. My babies seem to not like that side, they have to nurse harder on that side. So before this baby was born, I was determined not to get that again! I bought 2 sets of these. When you put them in the microwave, be sure not to get them too hot. It didn't seem too hot to the touch, but when I put them on, they were too hot to that sensitive skin. I ended up burning myself. I found that putting a small hot washcloth on first and then put the heated thing on, it works better than if you just put it on dry. I secured it in place with my nursing bra. So whenever I feel really hard spots on my breasts, I get paranoid and get these out. I also used them cold. My 5 yr old son had tonsils surgery and I tried to use the cold ones on him. They wrapped around his neck like a necklace. They would have worked great if he would have kept them on for longer than a second! They were not too cold even after I left them in the freezer for several hours.

A must for new mamas!
This product is just indispensable! I am nine days into breastfeeding and I am so glad that I ordered them before giving birth, so that I had them ready when I got home from the hospital. I have just ordered a second set, because that way I can have one pair in the freezer for after feeding and one pair ready to go in the microwave for a warm compress prior to feeding. When I finish a feeding session, I can't wait to get the ones out of the freezer for relief. They feel so good! And I think they have really helped me avoid too much discomfort with engorgement. The only cons with the Tubes are that they are not quite big enough to go all the way around each breast, and that they are not really washable, but so far I have not had any issues with getting milk or lanolin on them.If you are getting ready to breastfeed or already breastfeeding and experiencing discomfort, order these NOW!
