I purchased a blue pouf which superbly contrasts my scarlet red mini couch. I like its gradations of blue that resemble patina and give it visual depth. And rather than buy bean bag filler, I chose to stuff it with old (clean) clothes and it still has room for more! Of course, you can pack as little or as much as you choose depending on the look and/or purpose it will serve. It features a strong, old school metal zipper on the bottom that should hold up for years to come provided it's not zipped and unzipped every single day. Otherwise, if it ever malfunctioned, it would be worth paying to have it (the zipper) replaced. As for smell, unlike other reviewers, I detected only a minimal goat-y odor upon removing the pouf from its plastic bag and which is barely worth a mention. In fact, today is the 2nd full day of its installation in my living room and there is no detectable smell whatsoever and my nose is quite discerning. And even if it had an odor, it would only serve to provide the African/North African ambiance that I love so very much. (Please don't get me started lecturing on the weirdness of Americans' predilection for a "fragrance free" lifestyle.)

I like the color and design. However, it does have a strong scent to it that smells of hide. This goes away after it's aired out for a bit. The threading on it has come out a bit by the zipper, I just took some scissors and cut it off, so that's why I lowered the stars. But you can't expect great craftsmanship on a $50 pouf. All in all, it's a great accent piece and I'll probably buy another one for a different room. I recommend this 👌

Great quality and exactly what I wanted. I ended up stuffing it with old clothes and it works great. I will say it has a strong smell that’s really hard to describe but it doesn’t bother me.

We love the pouf; it’s very well made and rich gorgeous leather. May order another one for our RV. Didn’t notice a smell like others have mentioned.

Wish I could love this as it is beautiful, but my goodness...the SMELL!!! It’s been in my garage for 3 weeks and now my whole garage stinks. It does not “air out” at all and I just don’t see how I could possibly put this in my baby’s nursery. I never write reviews but felt it was necessary. Again, so pretty in person, but sadly so nauseating :( What’s the point if you can’t even bring it in your home?!

Purchased as a gift. Seems to be good quality and sturdy. 2 negatives it does have a strong smell (left in garage for 2 weeks and it got better. I missed this in description (it is there) It is not stuffed you will need to buy poly-fil.

Exactly what I was looking for, good quality and pretty. It does come unstuffed but you can use anything to fill it, blankets or bean bag filling. The smell that other reviewers mentioned is the smell of leather.
