Used as a replacement
We bought two of these to replace others at the entrance to our driveway. The others were dim but these are bright and attractive. Hopefully, they will do well in our harsh winters.

A bit small
It's a bit smaller than I wanted but it works great and looks great. Although it's in the sun 100% of the day it doesn't stay on all night. If I had to guess, maybe 7 hours.

The bottom of the light is completely open , no way to keep bugs out.
Looks nice gave to wait and see how many bugs it collectsMade well I think.

Everything but size is a "positive".
We've owned our home for 30 years. For the first few years all the yards had gas lights on lamp posts. We finally decided to take off the old gas wick housing and replace it with this unit. The only negative is we would have preferred something about 25% - 35% larger. Nothing seems to be available for less than 2-1/2 to 3 times the price.

Could be a little brighter
We purchased this to replace a hard wired light to save us from digging up wiring. It serves the purpose of providing a bit of light in the evening but could be a little brighter.

This is more of a "mood" light
I really was excited to get this outdoor lamp. I felt the price was high enough to warrant an excellent product that would last years. Well, after two days of charging the light was more like a "glow". does not shine near as bright as I was hoping for, especially at the price tag of $67. I am returning as it will not meet my outdoor lighting needs. This is more of a mood light.

Works well and is easy to install (if using a pier base for the light).
My new home has a post box on the street. The box is enclosed in a sturdy brick structure that, unfortunately, has no electricity run to it. I wanted some light on it for both safety (cars not hitting it) and to see the mail if checking it after dark. At this time I didn't want the expense of hiring an electrician to run power out the the post box, so thought solar was the way to go. I purchased the Kemeco post-light as it appeared to have generally good reviews, and it fit our outdoor decor. The light arrived and was simple to prepare for installation. Really just install the batteries and attach it to the post or mail box you want it on. You do need to provide your own base though so have one ready. I attached the pier base to my post box enclosure, then easily attached the lamp to the base. I didn't spend more than 30 minutes installing everything (and I am not a pro-handyman by any means). Do not turn on the light until it gets at least 24 hours of sunlight to fully charge the batteries!I let the charging go a full 48 hours as we had quite a bit of overcast and rain. But when I turned it on the first time I was pleased by the amount of light it cast. While I do wish it was more powerful, the light did do what I wanted. So far, the light has worked without a problem for 3 months now in all kinds of weather and cold. Aside from the amount /power of light it casts, I have no real complaints. The light is smaller than I would have liked (no fault of Kemeco - I should have gauged scale better), but does look nice. My only real complaint is with the design of the solar panel for charging. It is completely flat and has a lip surrounding it. The lip traps water and dirt which will, over time, reduce the effectiveness of the panel.

Delivers on what it offers
Our sixteen year old post lantern stopped working. We replaced the bulb - nope. Replaced the sensor - nope. Now we were thinking of replacing the wiring, but that would require digging up the long wire run to the house. Instead, we decided to get this unit and we are glad we did.The unit comes substantially assembled. It comes with two ways to install it. Since we had an existing 3" pipe, we used that. It also comes with an adapter so you can install it on top of a 4 by 4 post. There are also spare screws and other pieces in case you drop something - which we ended up not needing. It comes in white or black. Our old unit was white, so we selected the white version. It surprised me to see how few white units are out there. Apparently white is no longer popular as Black and Bronze predominate. Nonetheless, since I did not want to replace, or paint, the existing pipe, white it is!The instructions tell you to leave it out in the sun for 24 hours before installing it to make sure the solar batteries get fully charged up. We left it on our deck in a really sunny spot. The next evening, we flipped the switch and were rewarded with immediate light!Installation was then very simple. We removed the old lantern; capped the wires that were connected to it. Put the new lantern on top of the pipe and tightened the three screws. That's it.That night, we made sure to look out and we saw that it was working. It is not the very brightest light, and it is relatively small, but given what we are using it for those are not faults - just observations.
