I rebuild classic motorcycles fitted with a variety of piston sizes commensurate with the engine capacity. This relatively cheap set of ring compressors is simple and easy to use without having to compromise on the tool diameter (there are lots of options). The special fitting tool made life very easy and once I received the tool set, it took less than 10 minutes to fit my 81mm barrel over the piston and continue to complete the engine build.I now have more confidence when approaching the next engine project !!

My pistons have a diameter of 62.5mm, whereas the smallest band with this kit is 62mm. I had to bend the tabs on the smallest band to make it close up enough to fit my pistons. It was still borderline and I struggled. On the other hand the long pliers do allow you to twist and manipulate to piston to assist fitting. If my pistons were just a bit bigger, then I imagine that this tool would have assisted greatly.

Bought to fit new rings on a motorcycle. Simple system that should have worked well however as soon as the tool was applied to the band around the piston and rings the tab / tool engagement clip just snapped right off. Clearly poorly welded. I could have just been unlucky with that particular band but it was the band that fitted my piston so returned it.
