This arrived today. It is everything I could ask ...
This arrived today. It is everything I could ask for in terms of looks, size, and coloring. It even fits inside the opening of my Fluval Edge 12 gallon aquarium! One star off because it arrived with a broken tail. They really need to pack these with bubble wrap inside the box! New one on its way, though.Update: I received the replacement. It also had a crack and two very tiny holes. I chose to keep it since I'm superglueing Java ferns on the surface and it won't be noticeable. I also glued a black piece of aquarium foam inside the mouth in case my Betta tries to get his foolish fish self stuck inside!

this guy sits pride of place right upfront and no matter where you start to look in the tank, your eyes are always drawn to him
this is currently the ONLY non natural looking hard decor in my aquarium. i have driftwood, two real and one resin, large rock, cholla wood, and real clam shell in my freshwater aquarium, and this guy sits pride of place right upfront and no matter where you start to look in the tank, your eyes are always drawn to him because of it. looks awesome and is beautiful. (also, most of my fish are of asian origin so fits so well, as well as i have always been drawn to Foo dogs) the only draw back to me, is i kinda wish he was a bit bigger!

Do not buy for betta's. I had one Betta ...
Do not buy for betta's. I had one Betta that I know had fin issues and couldn't figure out why his fins never could grow back. He passed and I got another betta. This betta climbed INSIDE the mouth and into the belly because there is space. Turned around and came out and his fins are trashed. Bettas are TOO curious for this statue and curiousity will kill them if this is in the tank.

Love these little guys!
I started with one in case it looked cheap or poorly made, but was happy to find that wasn't the case and ordered a 2nd small one and two of the larger ones. I am doing an asian themed tank and the smaller sized figures to go on either side of a temple gate while the bigger ones look out from the corners. The cory catfish have decided to hang out between the front paws on the large figures which lets us have excellent viewing of them! So very pleased with them! These Foo Dogs/Temple Guardians are quite unique, I haven't found anything else like them. They have decent weight and are amazingly detailed. The shading does a lot to add to the look in the tank, my only criticism would be that they used a little bit of green in that shading. The result under the aquarium lights is to make him look like he's starting to sport algae )-:

I want to love this as it is incredibly cute
I want to love this as it is incredibly cute. However, it isn't a very well cast item. The first one I received had a broken leg so that was returned. The second one has a small hole in the ball as the plaster wasn't very thick there when they poured it into the mold. I still like it and it looks cute so I won't return it but it doesn't appear to be well made.
