Buy the single pencil version instead
I purchased both this product (the 3 pencil set, ASIN # B00MSNINFQ sold by KOTARO) and the single pencil (ASIN # B000GAU2RU). I also purchased the recommended Pentel lead and erasers. The 3 pencil set arrived within a few days, which was great; however, 2 out of the 3 pencils get jammed to the point that they are unusable. The lead would just not feed.Prior to receiving my pencils I had seen videos onine of users complaining about a barcode sticker leaving glue residue on the pencil. My set of 3 pencils arrived without stickers. So I was beginning to wonder what they were talking about until my single pencil arrived many days later from Japan.Yes, it had the sticky label on the side, but this was the real deal. Quality was clearly better. All I care about is function, so I left the barcode sticker on the pencil as a sort of badge of honor and so I can tell which was "the good one".Your mileage may vary, but I would stick to the single pencil, ASIN # B000GAU2RU, shipped directly from Japan. it is worth the wait.EDIT: My rating still stands for this specific product but, after disassembling the pencil last night I noticed that the jams were being caused by a very microscopic bend on the tip, which the HB .5mm lead could not deal with. So this looks like a packaging issue since the single pencil that I ordered separately came much better packaged. I realigned the tip with some tools and the pencil works fine now.

1 for $15 was a better value than these 3
After buying a single one of these for $15 I was in love and wanted to get some more so I could have some at the office and at home. Seeing 3 for this low of a price seemed amazing. Until they got here. They look the exact same and function the exact same with the exception of the rubber nibs on these (I'm not sure if it's just the way they have been stored or what) but they barely stick out of the barrel of the pencil and so the entire feel of the pencil is different from the original they just aren't comfortable to hold compared to the single. I'm very disappointed.

Solid Pencil, Unique (to me) retraction
Item arrived in new condition.Overall, looks like what I was hoping for. Found it watching one of Stumpy Nubs cool tools videos. Like that the whole head retracts protecting the tip and the lead. Also if you change from the HB lead, then to reset the little window that shows the hardness, just loosen the tip by unscrewing it a bit, rotate as needed, and then re-tighten tip back down.Only concern is the clip pivot, and if the pin will wallow out/break over time. If that breaks then the whole pen becomes useless. Only time will tell.

Pentel GraphGear 1000 Mechanical pencil. My favorite pencil, EVER !!! (And I am 76 years old.)
Someone asked if this pencil is "comfortable", so, my response is: The Pentel GraphGear 1000. For me, AND my wife, a resounding YES!! We are BOTH pen/pencil lovers ( yeah, I know that's kinda weird, but true ) I bought a 3 pack of .5's, she got one, I got one, and I have a spare (You can't be too careful you know!) But, yes, we both feel that they are VERY comfortable. I am constantly drawing my ideas and plans, and these feel VERY precise, if you will, so I feel that I have great control of my line drawings. Might even get the other sizes too!!

Great retractable mechanical pencil
Not the fanciest, most comfortable, nor the cheapest mechanicals on the market, but despite that they are some of the best. Comfortable enough, cheap enough, and sturdy. The fact that the tips retract protects them and prevents stabbing if carried in a pocket. I own a dozen of different sizes and plan to continue using them for many more years. I have no idea what sheerness means for a pencil, so I gave it a 3 to be in the middle

Wish they aren't so expensive
It is just a Pencil why does it cost $10+ each? But it is so comfortable, and made of aluminum, I think. And the slightly more weight feels just right when you striking a line on lumber. Other pencil that are plastic have no weight, so I tend to press harder, breaking the lead. But this one, I just let it's own weight do the job. When finish, snap the head back in so it won't break the tip.

My favorite drafting pencils
I’ve loved these pencils for years. The grip is comfortable and sure due to the combination of knurled metal and rubber pads. The retractable tip is great to keep it from snagging or getting bent when carrying it around in my pocket. I like the way the clip opens so that it’s easy to clamp onto pockets, clipboards, etc.I’m such a fan that I have them in all 5 lead widths. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Absolutely Fantastic!
You simply cannot go wrong with the GraphGear 1000. Sturdy, durable, tough...not words I would usually use to describe a pencil, but they truly are an apt description of this writing instrument. I have collected several of these, in multiple lead sizes for my drawing projects. Simply put, they are my "go-to" pencil. Good lead capacity, fantastic weight, and an excellent grip, these are truly a pleasure to draw with. The retractable tip is just icing on the cake, and gives solid reassurance that the guide pipe isn't going to get bent or broken.Make no mistake, this is not some metallic looking piece of plastic...this is made of metal...and built to last!

Got sent fakes. Fully refunded thankfully.
Was obvious they were fake. These pencils are amazing and these were not!! First one I opened, the bit that turns so that you can tell what lead is inside would not turn at all. it was stuck solid no matter how many times I tried. Also, the click part to send the nib back in was seriously loose and flimsy and no doubt would've just fallen apart in days. The 2nd one I opened was exactly the same!!I have a few of these already so know what to expect and these were not real. I sent them back and got a full refund thankfully but at this unbelievable price I'm not surprised they weren't real. If it's too good to be true then it's that price for a reason.

Great Pencils - Great Price
I really love these mech pencils, these are retailing at £15 each in a popular high street art shop in the UK so 3 for £20 was a great deal. They were promptly dispatched from Japan on the 10th Dec and they arrived today 16th Dec!!! Really pleased with my purchase.

Excellent pencil!
Fantastic pencil. Nice to hold, nice action, no jams. Comparing to my old Parker (well not that old, it packed up after couple of months) this is a totaly different class. Recommended!
