Yellow.... the most quickly consumed CcMmYkkK ink
UltraChrome K3 is great stuff, I just wish it weren't so expensive. Since it's the same no matter where you get it, you might as well go for the lowest price.Regarding yellow ink specifically: keep in mind that your yellow cartridge is going to get consumed faster than the others if your printing is fairly average over the primary colors. This is because you have two shades of magenta ink, two shades of cyan, and three shades of black, but only one shade of yellow. So every other color has 2 or 3 cartridges to draw from while Yellow only has one. This ink will get used whenever red, yellow, or green are printed and green especially occurs very commonly due to the fact that plants are green and plants very often occur in photos. So even if you just bought a new printer and don't buy any other color ink right away, you might want to just order an extra yellow with your printer because you're most likely to run out of it first.

Epson Ink
I purchased this cartridge from Amazon in July 2014. The Light Light Black cartridge in my R3000 printer finally ran out of ink so I installed the new cartridge I purchased from Amazon 11/23. The printer doesn't recognize the cartridge as an valid Epson cartridge. I tried several times to install it but the printer would not accept it. Since I am well out of the return period for Amazon's return and Epson won't honor it since I purchased it from Amazon I am out the $$'s I spent on it. I purchased several other cartridges from Amazon and so far one has worked and one hasn't. From this point on I will only buy directly from Epson...Revised Opinion 11/24/14I left my original post above because after this post and several attempts to get the cartridge to work I gave up and wrote it... Well, never too proud to admit my own error I reposted this review.. I wound up thinking "Oh Well, One More Time." and shook the cartridge.. Low and behold the printer recognized the cartridge and began to work... I upgraded this product to five stars because after a little manipulation it began to work.. Not that I think that you should have to jump thru hoops to get the printer to work but... It Works and I really have nothing to complain about...

great prints and great color
I have had my R3000 printer now since the day it was earlier release so years, I print a lot of photo, and I go through a lot of ink. I have yet in 3-4 years had any issues with any of the ink cartridges I have purchased. I cant' say how many photos I get to the cartridge simply because color properties of any given photo print very based on subject, but they do tend to last a while. Overall I can't agree with the negative review posted here, because I do not see these issues. I recommended these cartridge so long as you are buying them new.

Great Ink might be the best but Epson has gone to far trying to stop refilling ink at home and put greed and profits before us!!
The chips on these are the only real downfall!! I understand Epson want's to make money selling the ink by trying to prevent people from refilling them but the time and money they spend on the printers and Ink trying to stop people from refilling is killing their reputation and my faith in Epson! I cant afford one of their Professional Printers costing over $10000.00 that has refillable Ink reservoirs right now I have over 10 DOA carts that Epson says they will replace but when I run out and get a DOA I can't use my printer until a new one arrives that works and it sometimes forces me to clean the Printhead more than necessary wasting a lot of ink, I only Purchased the R3000 because my R2400's printhead became permanently clogged from letting it sit to long in storage when I moved from the NE to the SE USA lesson learned there!!! I now do a Nozzle Check once a week to keep the ink flowing, the real review is this purchase that Amazon replaced promptly because as soon as I broke the vacuum seal on the plastic wrap it started to leak all over the place this is the first time for a leaking cart the only positive is I now might have a chip to put on a LLB that gave me a not recognized error that happens with 1 in 10, I am going to switch to a CIS system since my printer is past its warranty and hope I can find a way to reset the waste ink counter before it stops working until I send it out to have the waste ink pad replaced I can modify it to collect waste ink in a small bottle but Epson has changed the way to reset the printer and I have yet found a way to do it myself like I could with the R2400 using a utility program, so if you have tons of money to spend on Ink this is a great printer and Ink!!! but I think having my work outsourced might be cheaper and definitely cause less headaches

The real thing
It is actually cheaper than in most other places and the ink was fresh (not expired) perfect OEM replacement genuine Epson K3 Chrome ink.I gave it 4 stars because it is CHEAPER than anywhere else (with free prime 2 day) but only by a few pennies ( a buck) .But in general ink is more expensive than oil, blood, water and any other liquid.Wish prices would go down to real levels. And the R3000 is a thirsty beast. Great printer but drinks a lot.

Its as good as the photo black can be
Ok anyone buying this already knows how much ink they go thru using the r3000 (i think thats the only compatiable printer for this ink), so I am not going to get into it how many times I have bought this ink. Its as good as the photo black can be. There really isnt much to report here aside from it being cheaper here then anywhere else online
