Comprehensive and unique
I have been an amateur BBQ smoker for years and have bought a dozen or more cookbooks that cover smoking and grilling. This is by far my favorite, for a couple of reasons. First, it covers the basics exceptionally well. If you have never smoked a brisket in your life, this book will help you do it. Second, the book goes well beyond what a typical "BBQ cookbook" would cover. There are some very unique recipes that I have found extremely interesting. One other comment: I have been a fan of his rubs and sauces for years. They are absolutely the best around. I was STUNNED when I saw that he freely published the recipes for this rubs and sauces. In BBQ circles, rub and sauce recipes are closely-guarded secrets. No so here.Great book. Definitely worth it. You won't be disappointed.

Very well organized
Because of my family’s love of Meat Mitch Whomp sauce, I pre-ordered his cookbook. The book arrived yesterday and I am very impressed with the layout, images and the provided recipes. I can’t wait to make some of the recipes and change some of my techniques on the grill based on what Mitch has provided. I have several other barbecue cookbooks, but I feel this one will be one of my favorites. I found the first chapter regarding competition cooking extremely interesting and glad Mitch provided the details that he did. While I have no desire to enter a competition, I think I can improve my skills and processes to make better food for the kids and grandkids.

Off the charts food
We had heard of Mitch Benjamin as he is part of a hit restaurant in Kansas City. I’m not big on cookbooks, but with two teens who love his restaurant, we had to try the cookbook. My son immediately made the Whoopie pies for friends in town and they were a smash hit. From the Jalepeno-Cornbread Muffins, the Pig Tail Mac-N-Cheese to the Smoked Brisket Philly Cheesesteak (Holy smokes), it’s perfection. Whatever this man touches, it turns to food gold.

Fantastic Recipes
Most of the recipes in the book are actually Char Bar menu items. So if you love char bar and what to cook these at home, they are fantastic and taste just like at the restaurant! Beware!! Recipes are somewhat of an all day process but very good. But had great pictures of each food item and a lot of background history. Great book.

Fun cookbook
This is the most fun cookbook I've ever read. The stories behind the recipes kept me reading and reading. I like that you can buy the seasonings ready made or follow the recipes to make them yourself. So far I've only made the whoopie pies (started with dessert first!) and they were to die for. My family can't get enough of them.

Fantastic BBQ book!!
Extremely well produced book. Tons of pictures, we’ll organized, tremendous looking recipes. I have a TON of BBQ books and this one looks as good as any. Preordered a long time ago and was delighted to fill through it last week when it was released.

Unique narration of recipes
This book is full of high quality pictures of tempting food. There is not a picture for every recipe, but there are for most. So if you enjoy flipping through cookbooks, this one is especially enjoyable to meat lovers. Most of the recipes include grilling meats for entrees but there also sides and desserts. I sampled the chocolate chip cookie recipe as it is a classic standard. The recipe is accredited to his daughter and has a little back-story. It is more of the gooey type of cookie which I prefer. The recipe calls for 410 F baking temperature and acknowledges that is odd (my knob only goes by 50 degree increments so I tried my best). The recipe contained common ingredients and preparation. It says to use a 2 Oz spoon or 1/4 measuring cup. Instead, I used an ice cream scoop with the release button which is close to that amount and makes the job much easier. The instructions say to not “put these guys too close together” but does not specify how far that is 🤷♀️.It was very specific about only baking one sheet at a time on the bottom rack for “exactly 6 minutes” and then on the top for 3-4 minutes. As an experiment, I tried to just bake one sheet on the top rack the whole time to see if it made a difference. It did. The experimental ones came out more fluffy and less of the soft center with crunchy edges. Although still good, I do prefer them baked using the original recipe method. The texture was excellent. The flavor of the cookie was good, but I think it could have been helped with a little vanilla.Overall, this is a good quality cook book. It is written in a very casual tone which may be charming to some and annoying to others. It has commentary right in the recipe instructions rather than just in the intro. As long as the resulting food tastes good… I don’t care 😆.

This book is MONEY!
I’ve been a fan of Meat Mitch sauces and rubs for a long time, and Mitch truly outdid himself with this book and the recipes inside. The BBQ stuffed steamed bao buns and the crab cakes are absurdly good!

New School BBQ
I love traditional BBQ, but enjoy experimenting with new ideas and flavours. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but was happily surprised. There are some classics included, but there are a lot of innovate ideas that are new to me. Some guest grill masters add some nice recipes. Looking forward to diving in and try some new BBQ over the next few weeks.
