Great CD
I fell in love with the anime for which this soundtrack comes from, so once the tears stopped rolling, I used all of my wily devices to own this album. iTunes failed me, but Amazon was there! The price was a bit high, but price was no object- I needed this album. I could listen to bootleg copies on youtube until the glorious day when the disc arrived. My fingers have never hurt so much- the music inspired me to pick up my guitar again to try to play along with some of these songs- listening and singing along just wasn't enough- I needed more involvement in the music. Some day you may find me karaoke-ing some of this just for the rush! Anyway, you can't appreciate this album fully until you've seen the show where it came from, which, too, is highly recommended.

Fantastic album
What can I say. I absolutely love this anime. The anime follows my same core values of how a band should be. Therefore, it is only natuythat I love the soundtrack. I love this one for the couple secondary songs or other versions of the songs.

Sick cd
It’s the soundtrack from beck it plays and does what it should and sounds great no complaints.

Hit in America
These are great songs. They aren’t the same from the English dub version of the show but I enjoy them equally to those.

Good Album, but Would Have been Better if a Couple Missing Songs Included
This is a soundtrack that has more meaning if you've watched BECK the TV series (US title: Mongolian Chop Squad). The music is raucous and sometimes nasty, but there are a few good songs on it that I really like. "Face" is one of the good songs on this album. The vocals have a youthful, fresh sound, the recording is clean and the kick drum has that hard thump to it like only a certain brand of horn loaded woofers made back in the 1970s sounded like. Anyone who's been around the sound reinforcement biz will know what I'm talking about.I was rather surprised to find "Genki wo Dashite" on the disc, because it's a J-pop tune that Yukio Tanaka (Koyuki) briefly hears on the radio, before he got really involved with rock music and the band, BECK. But it's a nice tune and feels so late '80s in style, it's refreshing in this day of declining J-pop music."Moon on the Water" is very nice, and there are two versions, but unfortunately, not the TV version used as the end theme of the last few episodes. With a few instruments, the TV version fleshes out a nice song. The two versions on the CD are minimalist and don't quite excite me."Follow Me" appears in a couple of versions and it really does feel like a '60s British rock sound. Nice 'authentic' sound. There's a second version sung by Maho and Koyuki, which is much more sensual."My World Down" is another one of those interesting songs. The CD has the TV version, but my feeling is this version is too compressed and the mix is harsh on the ears, with constant scream of guitars in hard overdrive with the raspiest of odd-order harmonics and very little impact in the percussion. Half of me wants to crank the song up, by my ears scream "NO!!". During the series, BECK does a studio session where they play this song and it's really nice and has the impact, dynamics and ear-pleasing sound that I so wished were on this CD."I've Got a Feeling" is right from the concert near the end of the series. It's long, repetitious and takes a long time for the rest of the band to arrive. Minimalistic lyrics, but easy on the ears when turned up loud. Finally, "Slip Out" is one of the better songs on this CD. Clean recording, open, good vocals, good bridge melody and innovative chord progressions that aren't commonly heard in rock songs on our side of the Pacific. So why the three star rating? The album doesn't blow me away, although some of it's very good, and there are too many RAP and Hip Hop songs on it. It's nasty stuff that I'd be embarrassed to have my neighbors hear me cranking up on a Thursday night. Still, for the money I paid for it, it's a good purchase. Technically excellent on some of the better tracks and a good listen.

Capolavoro!
Capolavoro punk/rock giapponese, prestato agli anime!

If you've watched the anime you'll want this
Came across BECK: Mongolian Chop squad by pure chance granted I watched the English Dub but the must was so cool that I had to get the soundtrack granted this isn't the English version because as far as I know there has never been one released but the Japanese songs still rock, And I want to give a big thanks to Samurai Media for sending me this as described and well before expected delivery date
